Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson) novel Chapter 812

Samson had realized a while ago that Jayson had most likely moved the baby to another secret location early on.

The medical institution in Nacsall that was supposed to watch over the child was only a decoy.

Anyone investigating the facility would find it operating as usual, unaware that Jayson had already made all the necessary arrangements. That was precisely why Samson always found Jayson so unnerving.

Jayson knew how to set traps and pull tricks at every turn.

Samson also knew the situation looked bleak for his side. He had lost the leverage to negotiate over the special materials in Ulyndor, and he could no longer take Ariel with him as well.

A fresh sting of pain throbbed in his back. Samson felt as if the events of the day would leave a permanent scar that would haunt him forever.

For a moment, he could not tell if he was angrier about failing to wrest Jayson's materials company away or about Ariel's attempt to escape. His eyes stayed fixed on Ariel, but he answered Jayson's earlier question. "Be direct. Mr Larkin, how do you plan to handle this?"

Ariel kept her gaze lowered. She hoped she would never see or speak to Samson again.

Jayson looked at Samson coolly. "There are a few things you need to understand, Mr Pryce. Cecilia Pryce is still detained in Croinia. Your father arranged for her to be held for three years. He promised she would not be released before that time is up.

"I was being merciful by placing Cecilia in a rehabilitation facility to settle our earlier conflicts. But you ruined that, Mr Pryce."

Samson's expression went ice cold.

Jayson continued, "I'll be blunt. I'm going to use Cecilia as leverage. From now on, I will make sure she cannot enjoy any peace in that facility.
