It was almost four in the morning when Jayson finally completed what he believed to be the perfect design for their wedding invitation.
He stared at the laptop screen for a while before checking the dates. Claire would be one month old on the 18th of next month—a day that held extra meaning for their family.
If they could speed up the preparations, they might be able to hold the wedding on that very day.
Jayson lifted his gaze toward Ariel, who was sleeping with her back to him. After a moment, he began typing on his laptop with a calm expression.
He created a digital version of the wedding invitation. Once he finished writing a simple yet informative message, he attached the invitation and sent it to Lucas' work email.
When everything was done, Jayson finally went to bed. He gently pulled Ariel into his arms and smiled faintly.
…
Betty was all for Jayson and Ariel's plan to hold a wedding. Excited, she immediately began thinking about whom to contact and hire to design Ariel's wedding dress. They would also need a wedding planner.
Since Evelyn had more connections and resources, Betty swiftly decided to leave those matters to her. "You should help the youngsters with these arrangements."
Evelyn was rendered speechless. She had been assigned a very important task before she even said a word.
Jayson had quite a few requests regarding the wedding ceremony. When Evelyn came to ask for his input, he leaned back in his chair and took a sip of coffee.
"The wedding should be grand, but without unnecessary or complicated rituals. We can skip the more tiring parts. I don't want a traditional ceremony either, since that would involve too many rules and customs.
"The venue should be special—preferably an open space so guests can move around freely. We can invite the press, but please filter and select which media outlets to include. Make sure their coverage focuses solely on factual content.
"As for the wedding dress, it shouldn't be too heavy or extravagant. Ariel shouldn't feel burdened wearing it, but it still needs to look elegant and well-made. Ari's working for the government now, so it shouldn't appear like she's splurging too much. She needs to maintain a modest, respectable image."
Evelyn pressed her lips together. "Don't you think your demands are a bit much?"
Jayson was listing one requirement after another, treating her almost like his personal assistant.
He put down his cup as another thought came to him. "Also, let me know once you've chosen the wedding planning team. I need to inform them that we'll be having a small celebration for Claire's one-month milestone on the same day as our wedding. Thank you in advance for your help, Mom."

The readers' comments on the novel: Dead at Heart (Ariel and Jayson)
Can you give me more chapters? I was hoping for a happy ending with Ariel and Jayson. Janice with Wade, and if not, put her with Chad, Matt, or even Liam....
Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
