Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 137

Charlotte had just soothed Ryan to sleep, but an inexplicable unease gnawed at her.

Suddenly, her phone lit up:

**Noah jumped. He’s in the ER—fighting for his life! —Darren**

Her pupils contracted. Without hesitation, she grabbed her coat and emergency medical kit and bolted out the door.

By the time she arrived at the private surgical wing of the hospital, the air was thick and suffocating.

The harsh glare of the operating room light bled into the corridor.

Darren, tall and broad-shouldered, leaned rigidly against the cold wall, his eyes bloodshot and haunted.

Lena, normally the picture of elegance, was a wreck—her makeup streaked with tears as she sat slumped on a hard plastic chair.

Beside her, Xena dabbed at her own eyes, voice trembling: “Noah…my poor boy…what were you thinking…please, please let him be okay…”

No one noticed Charlotte’s arrival.

She ignored them anyway, striding to the OR doors and addressing the nurse on duty. “Let me in. I’m performing the surgery.”

The nurse stared, stunned, before her face hardened. “Are you out of your mind? He’s already being treated! You don’t have a medical license—we can’t just let you in!”

Lena snapped out of her stupor, springing to her feet.

“Charlotte! Who told you to come here? You heartless witch! You’re the reason Noah tried to kill himself, and now you want to finish the job? Get out!”

Charlotte’s eyes narrowed. “I pushed him to jump?”

Lena’s voice was shrill. “Still trying to deny it? Xena, show her the note Noah left!”

Hands shaking, Xena fished a crumpled slip of paper from her purse and held it out.

The scrawled handwriting read:

“Look into it, or don’t. Your call.”

Turning back to the nurse, she pressed, “Let me in to operate. If you don’t and he dies, the Harringtons will have your head.”

The nurse recoiled, visibly shaken.

“Charlotte, stop threatening her! As long as I’m here, no one’s getting in to interrupt Noah’s surgery!” Lena barked, then shouted at the security guards, “Get this lunatic out of here! Now!”

A cluster of guards in black suits rushed toward Charlotte, grabbing her arm.

She shot Darren a cold, steely glare. “Darren, if you keep me out, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”

“Enough!”

Darren shoved the guards aside, stormed over, and pinned Charlotte hard against the wall.

His hand clamped around her throat, his eyes burning. “Charlotte, have you lost your mind?”
