Ditching Me for His 'Soulmate'? His Loss. Next Stop: My New Life novel Chapter 107

Chapter 10

Nate walked away.

Before stepping out the door, he uttered only a single, heavy phrase:

“I’m not agreeing to the divorce.”

“When I figure this out, I’ll come back for you.”

At the time, I didn’t dwell on his words.

I stayed put in Australia, officially enrolling in my graduate program.

Without the burden of work, I found myself with plenty of free time to spend with Leo.

Gradually, he began to let go of the past.

He made new friends.

His smiles started to return, genuine and warm.

I dated casually here and there—just a few guys.

But I never sought anything serious.

Marriage was simply off the table.

Nate began to visit Leo occasionally.

I assumed he was trying to mend whatever remained of their bond.

Naturally, I checked with Leo first.

Nate was just a chapter I had already closed.

Nothing more.

He no longer had the power to disturb my peace.

So yes—

The sun does rise eventually.

Even on the darkest days.

Even when the sky is heavy with clouds.

Morning still comes.
