Ditching Me for His 'Soulmate'? His Loss. Next Stop: My New Life novel Chapter 121

Chapter 7

Back then, Sebastian was just another small-time sales employee, barely making a name for himself in the sprawling city.

During one particularly intense contract negotiation, the other party was visibly impressed by his skill and determination. They didn’t just compliment him—they urged him to take a leap of faith and start his own business, even offering to invest a significant sum to get things off the ground.

At that moment, Sebastian’s priority was clear: raising his daughter with care and stability. The idea of plunging into the unpredictable world of entrepreneurship terrified him. Yet, the other party didn’t relent. They painted grand visions of success, promising opportunities bigger than he could have imagined.

After days of wrestling with doubt and hope, Sebastian finally mustered the courage to embark on this risky venture.

To his astonishment, once he took that step, it felt as though fate itself was aligning in his favor.

During the fragile startup phase, contracts that seemed impossible suddenly landed on his desk—deals that even major corporations could only dream about securing.

Word of his fledgling company spread like wildfire. The influential Zane and White families, intrigued by this unexpected player, each poured a hundred million dollars into the business, taking just a twenty percent stake combined.

At the time, the total value of Sebastian’s company barely scraped a few million.

This astonishing turn of events sent shockwaves through the entire New York business scene.

Later on, Sebastian met Vivian Ward, whose gentle demeanor quickly captivated him. He found himself drawn into a world of tenderness he hadn’t known he craved.

As the Shaw Group solidified its presence in New York, Sebastian’s mind drifted away from Jenna—and from so many other things he once held dear.

“You were helping me behind the scenes all this time?” Sebastian’s voice cracked with disbelief.

“No, that’s impossible!” I replied, shaking my head.

“If it really was you, why didn’t you stop me when I met Vivian?” he pressed, desperation creeping into his tone.

I barely managed a tired shake of my head, too drained to explain everything.

“Expert Anders, shall we begin showcasing your abilities now?” I asked, striving to keep my voice steady.

“Let’s do it,” he answered calmly, though a flicker of tension remained.

“Stop trying to scare me, Jenna!” Sebastian snapped, frustration boiling over.

“This is New York,” he scoffed. “I don’t believe you can turn this entire city upside down!”

“But now my contact is yelling at me over the phone, furious about what I did to get his boss so pissed off. You’re on your own!”

And with that, the line went dead.

Sebastian sat frozen, stunned. Someone powerful enough to command Master Zane with a single word was now causing chaos because of him?

No sooner had Master Zane disconnected than Master White’s call came through.

His fury was even more intense, threatening that if the White family went down, he would drag Sebastian to hell with him.

Defeated, Sebastian collapsed to the floor, the weight of it all crushing him.

Charlotte hurried over, concern etched on her face as she helped him to his feet.

“Mr. Shaw, what kind of heavyweight did that woman Jenna bring into this mess?” she asked nervously.

Sebastian didn’t respond. He only muttered to himself, voice heavy with despair, “It’s over. Everything’s over.”
