Chapter 737
“Fine. When the results come out, I’ll have Miriam bow and apologize to me,” Jennifer said, finishing her meal and standing up.

At 8:30, they arrived at a reputable private DNA test center. In front of the doctor, they each gave a blood sample and signed the consent forms for the DNA test.
There would be two DNA test reports–one for Teresa and Evelyn, and another for Jennifer and Evelyn.
Right in front of them, the doctor entered the sample numbers into the system. “Alright, the results will be ready in 48 hours. We’ll call you when they’re done, and you can come pick up the report then,” the doctor said.
“What’s the soonest we can get the results? I don’t mind paying extra,” Teresa asked, sounding anxious.
“Even if you pay extra, the fastest it can be is within 24 hours. With two reports, it can’t be done any faster,” the doctor replied.
Teresa nodded. “Alright, let’s go for the expedited option. The faster, the better.”
Seeing how anxious Teresa was, Jennifer said, “It doesn’t make a difference whether we rush it or not. I know for sure I’m Hannah. Why are you letting Miriam fill your head with nonsense?”
“Yeah, whatever,” Teresa replied absentmindedly, not really caring what Jennifer said–she had her own thoughts now.
Jennifer sighed. “I have to go to the hospital. You two can just take a cab back.”
“Okay, go ahead,” Evelyn said, watching Jennifer walk away.
Once Jennifer had left, Teresa finally turned to Evelyn. “You didn’t finish what you were saying this morning. When you gave birth to Hannah, were you the only one in labor? Was there another woman giving birth at the same time in the hospital?”
Evelyn answered, “Actually, my cousin Peggy was there too. We were both at the same hospital.”
“Mom, you actually have a cousin?” Teresa blurted out, genuinely surprised. She’d never heard Evelyn mention that before.
Evelyn’s face twisted with disgust when she brought her cousin up. “Since childhood, she was jealous and competitive. She always wanted the best of everything. Seeing me happy made her mad, and she picked on me.
“Later, she married a rich man who loved gambling; he fost everything fast. She even asked me for money before we fell out.”
“So what exactly made you two fall out?” Teresa pressed, genuinely curious.
Mentioning this, Evelyn became angry. She looked even more disgusted. “She had no shame. She was caught in bed with Philip when I got home. She cried and said she was wrong.
“I couldn’t stand it. I slapped her and told her to leave. Later, I learned she and Philip had an affair for a long time. Disgusting. Why did she have to be a homewrecker? Her parents knew about it and sent her overseas to avoid shame.”
Teresa felt a headache coming on. She didn’t know there was so much conflict between Evelyn and Philip. “So she’s still overseas?” she
asked.
“I think she went to Cerein, I remember hearing some gossip about her a few years back–she was working at a plastic surgery clinic over there. Her face has changed so much. It is hard to recognize,” Evelyn replied.
