Chapter 237 Breaking Free
“Is that so? Was it worth spending so much just to mess with us? Buying off all the online publicity isn’t simple.”
An unbelievable guess popped into Anna’s head: “They think they can’t beat us, so they’re trying to get the jump on us?”
Tatiana smiled faintly. “Mm. Barring any surprises, they probably heard it ahead of time. The new song leaked.” Thousand Corp and HJ Entertainment were competitors; it wasn’t strange for them to have spies.
“Holy crap! Why didn’t I think of that! I feel so much better now! Haha…”
“Let’s wait for the release and see.”
“Okay, okay! I’ll contact you if anything comes up!”
After hanging up, Tatiana leisurely continued flying the kite with Ann. The beautiful butterfly kite soared high and far. Ann jumped excitedly, “Mommy is amazing!” Ann’s laughter brightened Tatiana’s mood.
Meanwhile, the new song was released precisely on schedule.
Almost no one paid attention to the song titled ‘Breaking Free. All eyes were on Harpie. The few who noticed the unfamiliar singer dismissed it as just another cover by an online influencer, not even bothering to click.
In the crucial first half–hour, the song had only 100 plays, mostly courtesy plays from company staff.
Anna’s face darkened. “We’re finished…”
After a day at the park, Tatiana carried the exhausted, sleeping Ann home. Looking at her daughter’s flushed little face, she couldn’t resist a kiss. “Sleep well, baby.”
There was still time before dinner. She went to the study, opened her computer, and checked Anna’s messages. The numbers were much worse than expected. Anna was already preparing to fall on her sword before the company.
Tatiana thought for a moment, switched to her overseas messaging apps, opened several chats, sent the same message, and closed her computer. She then replied to Anna’s text with four simple words: “Don’t panic just yet.”

HJ Entertainment celebration party.
The new album ‘Winter Love Song‘ was a massive success. Harpie booked a ballroom and treated the entire company. He seemed to be in high spirits, drinking several glasses, basking in the adoration.
“Harpie will definitely top the charts this time!” “Congratulations, Harpie!” “Another chart- topper!”
Everyone scrambled to flatter him, not forgetting to praise the ‘new genius composer‘ Bianca.
“Ms. Lowell is amazing too, creating such an excellent piece in such a short time!” “Ms. Lowell has a bright future.” “Congratulations to Ms. Lowell too!”
They conveniently ignored the plagiarism scandal, offering insincere praise. Bianca smiled modestly, accepting the compliments without a shred of guilt, even though she hadn’t written the song at all; she had paid someone to write it and put her name on it.
Halfway through the party, a staff member scrolling through trending topics suddenly realized all their pre–purchased promotions had been buried.
“Shocking! Murica’s music heavyweights are all weighing in!” “Where did this song come from?” “Holy crap! It’s amazing! You guys have to listen! I’m hooked!” “My ears are blessed! Highly recommend!” “Mom, I think I just heard heaven. Help!” “Am I the only one shocked this is sung by a rookie? This singer Will? Okay, followed!”
Harpie watched the comments and retweets, his expression turning thunderous. “Find a way to bury this!”
But it couldn’t be buried. The song exploded like a bomb, shaking the entire music industry. First, several highly respected Murican artists shared it, then official reviews from globally renowned record labels propelled it to new heights. More importantly, the song itself was exceptional, every lyric resonating deeply. Will’s voice, untrained but full of character–a clean tone somewhere between youth and manhood–was refreshingly unique,
Someone even dared to say: “I think… he sings better than Harpie. I prefer this newcomer.” The comment instantly drew attacks from Harpie’s fans.
But the numbers didn’t lie. The play count skyrocketed from the bottom, climbing at an unbelievable rate, reaching the number two spot, not far behind ‘Winter Love Song.
That night, Anna’s phone nearly exploded with congratulatory calls. Stunned by the sudden success, she checked her phone, almost disbelieving her eyes, and immediately called Tati.
