Chapter 236 Sabotage
Twenty–five years ago, the young lady and her husband went on vacation to Hindersville. Wanting privacy, they traveled secretly, without bodyguards. They vanished without a trace. Despite years of searching, the old lady’s health declined. Round after round of investigators found nothing. Last year, the doctor gave a grim prognosis–she likely wouldn’t survive the next winter. The old lady then resolved to go to Hindersville herself, despite the difficulties, to find her daughter. Thankfully, Miss Emily’s company kept her spirits from completely breaking.
“It’s late, Madam. You should rest.”
The old lady put the photo away and drifted off to sleep. Tonight, she dreamed of her daughter, a rare smile gracing her sleeping face.
Just as the maid closed the door, Emily approached eagerly. “Is Grandma asleep?”
“Yes, Madam is asleep.”
“Did she take her medicine?” Emily added quickly, perhaps sensing her directness was too much, “The doctor specifically said to make sure she takes it, otherwise her body won’t hold up.”
The maid smiled, unsuspecting. “Miss Emily cares so much for Madam. She took her medicine before bed.”
Emily finally relaxed. “Good. Grandma’s health is the most important thing.”
“Miss Emily should rest early too.”
“Yes, I know.”
Emily returned to her room, locked the door, closed the window, and made a secret call.
“Dad? I’m back in Hindersville… Yes, she’s still determined to keep looking… Get the proof of Yvonne’s death ready as soon as possible. Make it shocking. The doctor said she can’t handle too much stress, it could trigger her heart condition… Don’t worry, she trusts me completely now… Okay, got it.”
“Dad, are you sure Yvonne really died back then? And the child wasn’t born? That’s great!”
“Okay, okay, I’ll be careful. No one will find out.”
The weather was clear, perfect for a release day.

Anna sat anxiously in the control room, two empty coffee cups beside her. Her nervousness was palpable.
“Hasn’t it started yet?”
“Still an hour to go. Relax.”
“I wish I could.” How could she not be nervous after all the trouble this song had gone through? She envied Tati, who wasn’t worried at all. In fact, Tati had taken her daughter to the park today, skipping work entirely. Such composure!
Anna glanced at Will, who sat rigidly nearby, and felt slightly better. At least someone else was
as nervous as she was.
She tried to relax, pulling out her phone to scroll through some videos, when an ad popped up.
“New Album Release! Listen to Harpie’s New Album – Winter Love Song!”
Her pupils contracted. She clicked it immediately. “Fuck!” she swore.
Harpie had released his new album, timed perfectly before theirs. Twitter was flooded with promotions, fans and influencers reposting like crazy. Within minutes, it was trending.
“#WinterLoveSong #SoGood!” “#NewComposerCustomTrack!” “#HarpieRocks!” “#AmazingVocals #NewPeak!”
The trending topics dominated the feed. Anna ground her teeth. She hit play.
Will frowned. “This song’s style… is a lot like Tati’s.”
Like? It was practically identical! But proving plagiarism based on style alone was difficult. Anna checked the composer credits: Bianca. Who else could it be? Fury surged through her, and she called Tati.
Tatiana was flying a kite with Ann in the park. Seeing the call, she told the nanny to watch Ann and answered. Amidst Anna’s furious rambling, she caught the key points. “Calm down. Let me listen.”
