Chapter 235 Yvonne
“If he didn’t know him, how could he drop the charges?”
“It’s enough that he knows me.”
་་
“…” People with immense wealth were often so straightforward. Although she didn’t know his background or identity, his undisguised ambition and aggression suggested he was not simple.
“Thank you.”
He finally put down his fork and sighed softly. “You’ve said that many times.”
She pressed her lips together, swallowing the rest of her thanks.
“I like the gift you gave me very much. So let’s call this even. No need to dwell on it.”
After dinner, he seemed genuinely busy, taking several calls. Not wanting to eavesdrop, she wisely stepped out of the private room for a walk. The rooms were built around a private garden, featuring rockeries and water features—a pleasant view. She stood for a while, taking a few photos, thinking she might bring Ann here sometime.
“Grandma, look over here. It’s so pretty.”
A clear, sweet voice came from behind. Tatiana instinctively turned, her pupils contracting. She froze.
Jasper, just stepping out of the room, froze too. Their gazes simultaneously fixed on the same
person.
A young woman in a white coat and beige skirt, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders, revealing a stunningly beautiful face.
That face… how familiar! Tatiana almost thought she was looking in a mirror. She saw her former self… the “Tatiana‘ who hadn’t been locked away, who hadn’t been worn down–the once dazzling young lady of the Lowell family. The resemblance was uncanny, at least seventy
percent.
The young woman was smiling, attending to an elegantly dressed elderly lady beside her, occasionally saying sweet things to make her happy.
“Grandma, this is the best your appetite has been since we came back. I should ask the chef for the recipe so I can cook for you myself.”
The old lady chuckled. “You always know how to cheer me up.”

The girl stuck out her tongue playfully. “It’s what I should do.”
Only when they drew closer did Tatiana snap out of her shock, suppressing her turmoil. There are many people with the same name, but someone who looks so similar… Her feelings were
complicated.
As they passed, the old lady seemed to sense something and looked up at Tatiana, studying her for a long moment before looking away disappointed, sighing softly. “Getting old. Everyone starts looking familiar.”
The girl explained, “Sorry, my grandmother mistook you for someone.”
“It’s alright.”
The girl helped the old lady walk away, followed by several bodyguards–clearly people of status. Tatiana felt an inexplicable sense of connection, not to the girl, but to the dignified old lady.
She pushed the strange feeling down and turned back to the private room, only to find Yasper standing at the door, also watching them leave.
“Mr. Yasper.”
Jasper slowly turned his head and looked at Tatiana. The past looks just like her former self. The present is the real her. Having clarified this in his mind, his eyes cleared, showing no trace of turmoil, only a faint smile. “Sorry, I had some things to attend to.”
The smile momentarily dazed Tatiana. She quickly looked away. “It’s fine. Well, let’s call it a night. I should go.” Strange, how different he looks when he smiles.
“I’ll see you out.”
“No need, I drove.”
This time, he didn’t insist. “Okay. Be careful on the road.”
Tatiana picked up her bag and left. After a few steps, she paused. “Let’s not contact each other again. It’s best if our relationship ends here.”
Jasper watched her walk away before uttering his reply: “I can’t.” How could a traveler, journeying through endless winter for years, let go of the warmth finally found in his hand?
If ‘Jasper‘ couldn’t work… then ‘Yasper‘ would. Since she had pursued him for ten years… this time, it was his turn.
