Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 241

**TITLE: Even the Night Couldn’t Silence Her Light**
**Chapter 241: Reaping What Is Sown**

Thump, thump, thump—

The two figures tumbled down the staircase, a chaotic bundle of limbs and panic.

“Ah!”

With a resounding thud, they hit the ground.

A jolt of pain surged through her arm, and she felt the sickening crunch of her ribs, her entire body screaming in protest as if it had been crushed under a heavy weight. In a desperate instinct, she had managed to shield her head, narrowly avoiding a potentially fatal impact.

When their chaotic descent finally came to a halt, the world around her spun in a disorienting blur. Gritting her teeth against the pain, she struggled to push herself up, each movement sending fresh waves of agony crashing through her.

Next to her, a ragged, desperate sound broke through the chaos—a gasping breath that resembled the ragged wheeze of air being forced through a broken bellows.

With a slow, trembling motion, she turned her head, her pupils constricting in horror at the sight before her.

A pool of crimson spread rapidly across the floor, the lifeblood of the woman lying there, her body flopping like a fish out of water. The woman’s mouth gaped open, gasping for breath, her eyes bulging and fixed on Tatiana with an expression of sheer terror. Blood bubbled at her lips as she choked out a haunting whisper, “Kill… kill you…”

Tatiana’s gaze fell, her heart sinking. The sharp blade of the watermelon knife was gruesomely embedded deep in the woman’s neck, twisted cruelly by the force of their fall, turning its lethal edge against its owner.

She reaped what she sowed.

Frozen in place, Tatiana watched as the woman’s struggles grew weaker, her eyes losing their light, staring vacantly into the void as her breath slipped away. Dead. Those once vibrant eyes now wide open, reflecting the finality of life extinguished.

“Tati!” A chorus of cries erupted from the crowd that had gathered nearby, their voices filled with urgency and dread.

“Mommy! I brought help! Mommy!”

But when the onlookers arrived and took in the gruesome tableau, horror swept through them like a tidal wave. Screams pierced the air, faces drained of color. The sight was too horrific; several people doubled over, retching at the sight before them.

Ann, in a panic, attempted to rush to her mother, but Anna clutched her tightly, covering her eyes with trembling hands. “Don’t look! Ann, don’t look! Keep your eyes closed… oh no!” Even Anna struggled to maintain her composure, her face paling as she fought against the bile rising in her throat.

Amid the chaos, the wail of sirens grew louder, signaling the arrival of the ambulance.

The lifeless body of the woman was carried away, leaving behind a chilling reminder of violence—a large, spreading bloodstain that seemed to seep into the very fabric of the floor. Tatiana, battered and broken with multiple fractures and abrasions, was rushed to the hospital, her world spinning into a haze of pain and confusion.

Ann’s eyes were red and swollen from crying, her small frame glued to her mother’s gurney, too afraid to blink.

Tatiana, despite her own agony, tried to comfort her daughter, her voice strained yet gentle. “Ann, your face is all messy from crying. You’ll get ugly if you keep it up.”
