Even in Darkness, the Chose to fide
Chapter 251 The Bounty

The police officer approached, his expression troubled. The residential surveillance system was deliberately destroyed. We can’t find any footage to identify them. This makes the search much more difficult. We suspect these people are professionals
Her heart nearly stopped. She clenched her fists and turned
Spring.
“Spring! Calm down and think. What did those people look like?”
“I… I don’t know! As soon as I opened the door, a club just came down, and I passed out.”
The lead was a dead end. Tatiana, her eyes red, pleaded with her, “Please, just try to remember.
A large hand came from behind, resting on her shoulder “Tatiana, stay calm”
She turned, her voice trembling violently. “Yasper, Ann’s gone… Ann…”
“We will find her. I promise.”
His voice had a calming quality. Her chaotic mind gradually cleared. She gritted her teeth. “Yes, we will definitely find her!”
The results, however, were not promising.
The police reviewed all the surveillance footage from the surrounding area but found no trace of the group. Only one hidden camera on a street corner captured a suspicious vehicle.
The footage showed approximately four people avoiding the camera’s main view and getting directly into the van. One of them was carrying a large duffel bag.
It was large enough to hold a three–year–old child.
Based on the vehicle’s route and Spring’s strained attempts to recall their builds, it was preliminarily confirmed that they had forcibly abducted the child.
But beyond that, there was no other identifying information. Even the van’s license plate was fake; the number didn’t exist in any database.
The trail went cold. Six hours had already passed since Ann was taken.
Of the golden twelve hours, only half remained.
Tatiana was on the verge of a breakdown.
She had only just learned she had lost another child long ago. Before she could even process that grib
was abducted. Her tightly wound nerves were about to snap.
Yasper wasted no time. He immediately called in his own people, surrounding the area and preparing to search every inch of it.
But the group was too cunning.
They had cased the place in advance, knew every camera location, and had left no traces from their arrival to their escape.

The police asked her if she had offended anyone recently.

Tatiana thought and thought. Her biggest conflict was with Harpic, but Harpic was still in the intensive care. unit, incapable of doing anything.
Besides Harpie, who else could it be?
As she was thinking, a familiar voice cut in.
“Tatiana! Have you found Ann?”
Chandler hurried over from his car, his expression worried. He then noticed the man with a powerful presence but an unfamiliar face standing beside her.
Tatiana, exhausted, just shook her head, remaining silent.
Chandler frowned. “I’ll have my family help with the search. We’ll find her soon, don’t worry.”
She replied in a low voice, “Thank you.”
Chandler instinctively reached out to put a comforting arm around her shoulder, but his hand was blocked before it could reach her.
Yasper took half a step forward, his expression cold. “Don’t bother. We have more than enough people. You’ll only get in the way.”
Chandler bristled. “Who are you? This is between me and Tatiana. What does it have to do with you?”
“Yasper.”
“Yasper?” He didn’t recall anyone by that name in Dalliston. A new–money upstart, perhaps?
“I don’t care who you are. In short, we don’t need your help. I will handle this for Tatiana.”
Yasper smiled, but it held no warmth. “How will you handle it? By asking your family for help? I recall you’ve been away for many years. Your younger brother has already taken your place. Will he agree to you mobilizing the family’s resources?”
With his pretense torn away, Chandler looked like a lion that had been challenged. “That’s none of your business!” he roared. “And who are you, anyway? Tatiana doesn’t need you…”
Thud.
Tatiana collapsed to the ground.
Both men’s faces changed instantly.
“Tatiana!”
“Tatiana!”
. “The patient experienced extreme emotional distress, triggering a pre–existing condition… You must be
careful in the future…”
The doctor’s fragmented words drifted into her ears.
