Even in Darkness, She Chose to Rise
Chapter 261 The Inner Sanctum
She forced herself to look inside, and her eyes widened.
A massive, transparent ice casket lay in the middle of the room.
She could faintly see a person lying inside.
A woman in a white dress.

The entire room was beautifully and opulently decorated in a European style, exactly like a princess’s room.
A strange intuition washed over her, compelling her to step inside.
She had just taken one step when she heard footsteps behind her. She immediately shrank back, closed the door, and retreated.
“What are you doing here? Get moving! This is a restricted area. The Bishop forbids anyone from approaching!”
It was another person in a white robe, their face concealed by a mask.
“The meeting is about to start. Hurry up. You’ll be killed if you’re late.”
The person seemed to be in a great hurry. After calling out to her, they rushed off.
Tatiana followed silently. After a series of twists and turns, she finally saw a set of enormous doors.
White–robed figures were entering from all directions.
Tatiana blended in with them, drawing no attention.
She followed the crowd inside. A long table was lined with people on both sides. The chair at the head of the table was the largest and most luxurious, a clear symbol of status.
She walked to the back and found an inconspicuous place to sit.
The large clock in the corner began to chime. Dong, dong, dong…
It was three o’clock in the morning.
A group of people in white robes, sitting together.
The scene was unsettling, no matter how you looked at it.
A knot formed in her stomach. This felt just like a cult ritual from a movie.
A figure in a red robe and mask walked in.
The moment he entered, the entire room fell silent. Even breathing seemed to quiet.
However, the red–robed man seemed to be in a foul mood. Even through the mask, she could feel it. His sharp gaze swept the room, pausing on each person with oppressive weight.

He spoke, his voice flat. “Someone from the lower levels has infiltrated.”
The words hit the room like water in hot oil, and the place exploded.
“I want to know who it is.”

The red–robed man sat in the main chair and waved his hand. Two men in black robes dragged a woman in.
Tatiana’s pupils contracted. It was Caitlyn, who had disappeared.
She looked battered, and her teeth were gritted. “Avery, it’s useless to grab me! King is back! He won’t let you do this!”
The black–robed men roughly restrained her, but just as they were about to strike, the red–robed man stopped them.
“What do you think he can do, even if he is back?”
Caitlyn’s tone was scathing. “He’d do a better job than you.”
He laughed, but there was no humor in his eyes.
“Is that so? Then why am I the one sitting here?”
Caitlyn said something incredibly reckless: “Because it’s the seat he didn’t want!”
Crack.
The glass in his hand was crushed.
The atmosphere became tense and stagnant.
“Caitlyn, do you really think I won’t kill you?”
“Of course you can. Of the original group, I’m the only one left by your side. If I die, you’ll be all alone.”
The red–robed man suddenly smiled. “You’re right. So you brought her in, and you hid her here, didn’t you? Even though you chose my side, you’re still helping him.”
A flash of panic crossed Caitlyn’s eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Let me guess… where is she?”
The moment he finished speaking, steel grates slammed down over every doorway.
It meant this place had just become a completely sealed cage.
No one from the outside could get in, and they would never know what happened in here.
Tatiana’s heart sank.
“Find the entrance!”

Jasper’s expression was grim as he surveyed the area, a place both familiar and foreign. The ferocity in his eyes grew more intense.
The man beside him had a joking look in his eyes. “Avery took your ‘treasure‘? It’s rare to see you call me. She must be something special.
Jasper didn’t respond, just continued his search.
“But doing this… you’ll make an enemy of everyone here. Do you understand the consequences?”
Jasper paused in his steps.
The man, thinking he’d reconsidered, relaxed. “We can take our time, there’s no rush…”
“You’re too loud.”
With that, Jasper strode forward.
