Chapter248
The doctor handed his paper and pen to Bethany. Bethany weakly wrote on the paper, “Doctor, I’m sorry, I can’t stay in the
hospital for now. My husband is outside. If he finds out I have
cancer, he won’t be able to handle it. Please… help me keep it a
secret.”
She could only use this way to play the sympathy card with the doctor, so the doctor would keep helping her hide it.
The doctor sighed, “But you’re running out of time. You can’t
avoid this. Your family will find out sooner or later, and they’ll
end up worrying about your condition anyway. It’s better to
start treatment early. Think about it, the worst outcome is the
same, but at least treatment gives you a bit of hope.”
She knew this truth.
She was getting ready to go abroad, and she also decided to get a
thorough check–up over there to see if the success rate could go.
At first, she didn’t want Terrence and Emery to know because
they just wouldn’t care at all, and it would only make her feel
worse.
But now, she really couldn’t let them know.
As for the others, she didn’t want them to worry.
She kept writing on the paper: “Thank you, my friend
recommended a doctor abroad. I might go there soon to check if
the surgery success rate can be higher. For now, could you
please help me keep this from my family, okay?”
The doctor helped her keep it a secret before because she was
mute, young and pretty, but got a terminal illness. He felt sorry
for her, so he agreed.
But she was hospitalized several times, all because of some other
minor illnesses.
The doctor really wanted to refuse her and advised her to stay
in the hospital and rest, so her condition wouldn’t get worse.
Just looked at how she was, couldn’t bear it, so agreed to keep it
from others for her.
She let out a sigh of relief, gave the paper and pen back to the
doctor, closed her eyes, and fell asleep in no time.
Bethany was in a coma because of a high fever. As for the
cancer, she didn’t want treatment for now, so the medical staff
wheeled her out.
Chapter243
Terrence hurried over.
Emery saw Mom come out and followed.
“Doctor, my wife was usually pretty healthy. How did she
suddenly pass out? Is it serious?”
Terrence mentioned it before, said Bethany didn’t look well.
She looked delicate, but lately she seemed kind of weak.
The doctor said coldly, “When she came in, her clothes were all
soaked. She caught a chill and passed out from a high fever. As
her husband, you should take better care of your wife and pay
more attention to her health. How could you let her stay in wet
clothes without changing them?”
