Chapter44
“By the way.” Eliza suddenly remembered what happened
when Mr. Emery came back from school, and she quickly told
Bethany, “Mrs. McConnell, you are still very important to Mr.
Emery. When he came back from school today, he saw the
thing you brought back, which turned out to be a ring. He said it
was specially auctioned for you by Mr. McConnell at a charity auction in Southmount. After all, it was Mr. McConnell’s
heartfelt gesture. He was worried that if you returned it, it would make Mr. McConnell unhappy, so he asked me to help
him hide it from Mr. McConnell.”
Eliza tried to use this method to keep Bethany.
Bethany looked at Eliza with confusion.
Eliza added, “Mr. Emery was taking care of you. He just had a fever and he called you. When a child is sick, their heart is fragile. He waited for you but you never came. Maybe he was just angry and didn’t mean it. Please don’t take it to heart.”
Bethany was slightly moved.
The son was still young and unaware of the emotional entanglements between adults.
Chapter44
I did know that I didn’t want her to have a falling out with
Terrence.
Just now, she received the news that Emery was sick, and she
hesitated to come back to see him.
She couldn’t hold back when she heard him calling for his
mother, so she hurried back.
If it weren’t for her hesitation, she could have come back earlier,
and he might not have called Krista.
Although Emery couldn’t speak to her and had a feeling of
disgust, after all, he was still her son.
She was only six months old.
No matter how much her son disappointed her, she couldn’t do
it either. She couldn’t just let go of the son she had loved for six
years overnight.
Bethany pondered for a moment and texted Eliza on her phone,
telling her that she went to the hospital to check on Emery.
Eliza called the driver and happily sent Bethany out.
Looking forward to Bethany’s visit to see Emery, hoping that her relationship with Terrence can be improved.

Terrence and Krista accompanied Emery to the hospital and
entered the pediatric emergency room.
When the doctor was examining, Krista was constantly
hugging Emery, showing great care for him.
Fortunately, it was just a common fever, just with a slightly
high temperature.
After the examination, it was necessary to receive intravenous
drip.
Terrence got a VIP ward to make Emery more comfortable.
Not long after, the nurse came in with medication and started
an IV drip for Emery.
