He was…
Emery burst into tears and felt very aggrieved.
“Clearly, it was my mother being unreasonable, not allowing
Krista to stay at our house, not coming home every day, and not
cooking for me. She didn’t even care about me when I was sick,
and my father even scolded me…”
Krista regained her composure and quickly comforted Emery.
“Emery, don’t cry. Your mother might have been busy. Adults
have a lot of things to do. Maybe you will see her tomorrow.“”
After pacifying Emery, Krista glanced at Terrence and said,
“Emery is still young, even if you want to educate him, you have
to take it slowly. You are so serious, it will scare him, and it will only have the opposite effect.”
Emery was still crying, causing his breath to become slightly choked.
My own son, there is no reason not to be concerned.
Terrence suddenly felt that he had indeed become more serious.
As I grew up, I naturally came to understand the love and care
my mother had given me.
Terrence didn’t speak anymore.
When Emery fell asleep, Krista finally put him on the bed.
Terrence whispered, “Thank you for your hard work. I will take
you back to the ward to rest.“”
“Terrence, if you have a fever, it tends to recur easily at night, so
I will stay and take care of Emery.”
“You were also injured, I am here with Emery.”
“Okay, if you can’t handle it, just call me.”
Terrence took Krista back to the ward.
He then returned to Emery’s ward.
In the early hours of the morning, the temperature that Emery
had not yet retreated rose again.
The child was burning badly, murmuring nonsense in a low
voice.
Chapter 45
Terrence had to call the doctor.
Because I had just received a fever–reducing drip not long ago,
and the fever recurred during the night, the doctor suggested
physical fever reduction.
Terrence splashed cold water and used two towels alternately
to cool down Emery.
I also had to take a dry towel to wipe off the cold sweat that had appeared on Emery’s body.
He had never done those things, and was a bit flustered.
When Emery was confused, he was calling for his mother.
Terrence thought of Bethany, and immediately his face changed.
He turned back to the ward and touched the towel on Emery’s forehead, finding that it had already become hot.
Afterwards, he took off the phone watch from Emery’s wrist, went outside, and dialed Bethany’s phone number.
