Chapter 36
Landon’s striking and dignified face, now adorned with a dab of pink cream, took on a comically endearing appearance.
An uneasy silence fell over the room. ‘It’s over. Mr. Kingsley is bound to be enraged!
Even Gloria was worried for Amelia. To everyone’s surprise, Landon didn’t show anger; instead, he looked at Amelia with a tender, affectionate smile.
“In this case, I’ll consider you to have had your share of the cake,” Amelia beained with delight, her eyes twinkling like stars. It had been a long time since she had laughed with such abandon.
Her last life had been riddled with pain, causing her to encase her heart in a protective shell in this life for fear of falling back into a nightmare and suffering again.
Today, she felt genuine warmth and affection again. This life was proving to be worthwhile.
When they returned to the room after the birthday celebration, the pink. cream still lingered on Landon’s forehead.
Amelia discreetly took out her phone and snapped a photo. Landon’s eyes narrowed, saying, “I saw you.”
“Oh dear, you saw me.” Amelia playfully stuck out her tongue and took a selfie with him.
Landon didn’t want to be photographed, but he couldn’t move anyway. The only thing he could do was close his eyes…
“Alright, let me help you wash your face.”
Amelia, content with her mischief, hummed a tune as she cleaned Landon’s face with a warm towel.
The cream didn’t budge easily, prompting her to apply a bit of cleanser and massage it in with circular motions from her gentle yet firm fingertips.
Once the cream on his face was washed off, Amelia went a step further and gave him a thorough facial cleansing, followed by applying a facial mask.
Landon resisted. “I’m a grown man. What do I need a mask for?”
“You’ll be even more handsome after using it.”
Amelia grinned, patting his cheek before returning to her routine of hand and foot masks.
This was the first time in his twenty–seven years that Landon had been pampered so meticulously.
Though he felt quite helpless, there was little he could do. Immobility left him with no other choice.
“Well, we synchronized. It’s so fun,” Amelia remarked, her smile halting as she checked her phone.
Landon inquired, “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing to worry about.” Amelia dismissed, tossing her phone aside and resuming her melodic humming. However, her mood had soured.
Landon pondered for a moment then asked, “Did Zachary message you?”
“What, do you possess X–ray vision?” Amelia responded, startled.
She thought, ‘I can read his mind, so it’s not strange that he has X–ray vision. But if so…‘ Subconsciously, Amelia shielded her chest.
“You’re so dramatic,” Landon remarked, almost at a loss for words. “Don’t I know your petty affairs? Do I need X–ray vision?”
Amelia considered it for a moment, ‘It made sense.‘

Landon was so astute that, with his direct command over Aaron, he must have figured her out clearly.
“Yes, Zachary sent me a birthday wish,” Amella confessed, showing Landon her phone.
Zachary had filled his message with sweet nothings and transferred 17,000 dollars to Amelia as a proof of his sincerity. But Amelia didn’t accept it
Landon snorted coldly, “Why not blacklist him?”
“I believe he still holds some value.” Amelia stated.
“What value could he possibly have?” Landon scoffed.
Landon thought an insignificant individual like Zachary was nobody to him at all.
“The rising potential value of Stonefield’s land is internal information he obtained from Lunova,” Amelia mused, “he’s still got a project in the works…
Landon’s eyes chilled. ‘The internal information got from Lunova?
It
unded real. How could the Foster family possess such capabilities?”
“Forget it, this project is still in its infancy. I’ll think about it by then.” Amelia brushed it off with a wave of her hand.
Landon narrowed his eyes. “You’re planning to start a business?”
“Yes.”
“With secrets pilfered from Zachary?”
Amelia thought for a moment and shook her head. “Not exactly.”
In her last life, after Stonefield’s land value skyrocketed to billions of dollars, both Zachary and the Edwards family reaped tens of millions of dollars in profits.
Melissa had only one daughter, Sandra, and everything in the Edwards family was Sandra’s, so she invested all her money in Zachary, citing her status as
his wife.
Zachary leveraged this billion–dollar asset to invest in another mine.
The abundant minerals brought even greater profits, and from then on, he steadily rose to prominence, earning the title of Norava’s Outstanding Young Entrepreneur.
Of course, in the end, all the wealth and glory flowed to Sandra.
In this life, Amelia aimed to cut Sandra off midway and claim the wealth for herself.
“Amelia, blocking someone’s path to wealth is akin to killing them. You should think twice.” Landon cautioned.
“I know,” Amelia smiled, not overly concerned.
Without his land in Stonefield, how could Zachary have the funds
Amelia was determined to seize the mine for herself.

“Get some rest. I have a company to run tomorrow.” Amelia yawned and instinctively crawled into Landon’s bed.
Suddenly, she felt something was off. In the past, Landon kept his eyes closed. As long as he remained silent, she could pretend he was asleep and
unaware.
But now, things were different–he could see. She couldn’t continue to snuggle into his arms right under his eyes, could she? How embarrassing would
that be?

“It’s your bed. I’ll sleep on the sofa,” Amelia said, grabbing the quilt and heading toward the sofa.
Landon’s expression darkened as he chuckled, “What? Are you afraid I’ll look at your body?”
“Well…” Amelia’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
He guessed it again. “Don’t worry, I have no interest in a terrible woman like you,” Landon scoffed.
Amelia felt a sharp sting at his words. She wondered, ‘Why did he say that? Am I really unattractive?‘
Amelia glanced down at herself, noting her c
