"Supreme of Void."
"What?" Nameless Death frowned. "The Elementals embody their Supreme so you mean the Berserker is...."
"Yes, he is the Supreme of Void. Or at least a version of him."
Nameless Death had a complicated expression on his face. So he had been told by a Supreme that he could regularly come to kill him?
The only saving grace was that because this location didn’t have many Chaos Elementals, the Supreme of Void couldn’t manifest anything above Stage 4.
Still, he was someone who became a Supreme. Even at Stage 4, he was strong enough to fight those who were ranked higher than him.
Nameless Death massaged his head, and asked.
"So, what do you mean by a version of him? And why are the elementals here so weird? If they belong to Supreme of Void, then they should be Void Elementals, not these weird Chaos Elementals."
Zagreus wasn’t surprised Nameless Death realized that the Chaos Elementals of this location were different from normal Chaos Elementals.
From what he had seen, Nameless Death had quite a high sensitivity to Death, so he was able to tell when Death had been tampered with.
"Nameless," Zagreus said slowly, giving him time to understand what he was going to say. "Chaos corrupts to do destruction, and Void corrupts until erasure."
"And?" Nameless Death asked.
"Since you use Void, you should know that Void’s corruption is just erratic evolution. But have you thought about something. Why evolution? It doesn’t make sense why evolution belongs to Void element."
"Get to the point," Nameless Death said, irritated. He didn’t realize he had said the exact same thing as Zagreus had said seconds ago, just differently.
"The ability of evolution. What element do you think it should belong to?"
Nameless Death thought about it.
Void’s evolution brought things to an end.
Since end was Void’s nature, he decided to stop thinking about evolution that brought end.
Just plain evolution.
What was evolution?
It was growth.
And what happened as something continued to grow?
It would grow strong.
Strong, yes, but what else would happen?
What if an object was continuously evolved?
The object would grow strong, and it would gain Consciousness. And if it gained Consciousness, then it would gain—
"Life." Nameless Death muttered. He was surprised by the conclusion he had reached.
"Oh, you guessed correctly on your first try," Zagreus said.
Nameless Death frowned.
That again brought too many questions.
Evolution was property of Void. This place, filled with elementals of Supreme of Void, had Chaos Elementals.
And now, it turns out the evolution was the property of Life.
"The Empire, however, was besieged by its enemies when the Queen gave birth to the twins."
"...?" Nameless Death frowned.
"The twins had the power to bolster the strength of the Empire by many times, as such other kingdoms and Republics decided to kill them before they could become a danger."
"What was so special about the twins?"
"They were born with unique powers. The older twin, Persephone, the Blessed One of Life, who would later become the Goddess of Spring and Life. With her being the Blessed One of Life, she could breathe life into the weapons, and use the power of Life to evolve them endlessly.
"With her alone, the future of Iltanea Empire had been bright, but the younger twin was no less special.
"He was the Blessed of Death. With his powers, the empire could strengthen the damage ability of their weapons by imbuing it with Death. The Blessed of Death also would later grow into the Supreme of Void and create the element of Void."
"What was his name?" Nameless Death asked, realizing the demon had not spoken his name like he did with Persephone.
"I cannot say that," the demon shook his head. "When one becomes a Supreme, they merge with an element. They shed their individuality—their identity as ’I’—and become an entity that is now ’We’."
The Concept of ’I’ and ’We’ was simple.
Supremes were the Elements themselves. When new Gods reached Stage 7, they would merge with the element.
These Gods would lose their sense of self and become one with the Element (Supreme).
Since Supremes were amalgamations of many, they were what was called the Concept of ’We’.
This was something that every God would become part of, whether they created a new element, or evolved the existing element.
The only exceptions were Heavenbreakers. They grew by themselves and their own powers. Their Consciousness was so strong that it became energy, and it could bend the rules of reality.
They embodied the Concept of ’I’. As in, they maintained their sense of self no matter how strong they became, unlike Supremes whose personality and sense of self would change depending on who they merged with.
