"At Stage 2," she began, lifting her chin as if rehearsing a list she had been preparing in her head for some time, "I awakened [Dimensional Shift]. It lets me freely distort and control the surrounding space.
"I also awakened [Death Mirror], which lets me reflect curses and soul attacks back at whoever uses them."
Neo’s brows rose. "That’s quite good."
Obitus gave a satisfied little nod.
"I know."
She was obviously pleased by his reaction but wasn’t about to let it show too much.
"And then, at Stage 3, I awakened [Reincarnation Binding]. It allows me to ’tag’ an enemy soul. If they’re killed, that soul can’t reincarnate or reform until either I or you release it."
Neo frowned slightly, tapping his finger against his arm. "That’s... a terrifying ability."
"Terrifying for them," she corrected, almost smug.
"Right," Neo muttered. Then he tilted his head. "What about your blade form? Didn’t one of your older skills evolve?"
He could see her information when she connected to Heavenly Records, so he knew about it.
She pouted, seeing he was spoiling the fun.
Neo realized his mistake, and coughed, "Continue."
"Yes. My [Formless Blade] evolved into [Formless Infinity]. It was because of this ability that I could reach the Cosmos Core of your Cosmos."
Neo paused, the words hitting him harder than he expected. "Cosmos Core..."
For a moment, he drifted into his thoughts.
He had almost forgotten about that.
His Cosmos Core was supposed to be the Primordial Cosmos Core.
But the last time he visited, he remembered it being called something else: Primordial Chaos Cosmos Core.
Why had the name changed?
His mind tightened around the thought.
It wasn’t something he could ignore forever.
He needed to check, but not now.
He suppressed the restless curiosity, forcing his focus back when he noticed Obitus staring at him, her lips pressing into a faint pout that was growing more accusing by the second.
She had realized he wasn’t paying attention.
Neo cleared his throat. "So, what did you awaken at Stage 4?"
Her pout disappeared immediately, replaced by excitement.
"At Stage 4, I awakened three new abilities."
She spoke proudly, savoring each word.
"The first is [Sword Legion]. It lets me manipulate any blade in the surrounding area by injecting my will into them."
"That’s quite useful. It can also be used as a detector to find enemies with a blade hiding in our surroundings." Neo nodded slowly. "And the second ability?"
"[Oblivion Bloom]. It lets me create my own domain. It’s similar to a God’s [World]."
"Oh? That’s surprisingly nice."
[World] was crucial at higher ranks.
Without one, a person’s strength was never complete.
Worlds didn’t just boost strength, they also limited the range of abilities inside, making every attack more focused and potent.
More importantly, a World isolated the battlefield.
That prevented collateral damage, which was more than necessary.
Just one swing from a Stage 4 God could tear apart everything around them, even space and time.
Fighting without containment would be as dangerous to the user as to the enemy.
Imagine fighting where each step you take destroys the floor and causes your foot to sink in it.
That was what would happen to high-ranking Gods if they fought without using Worlds.
This problem could be overcome with high control of ability, but such level of control was rare.
"What about the third ability?"
Obitus’s expression faltered for the first time.
She hesitated, as though unsure how to phrase what she was about to say.
Soul Spirit Weapons were modeled after demons.
