Chapter 701: Home

Felix’s shoulders sagged, and a sigh slipped from him.

"Sorry about that. It wasn’t exactly a good welcome."

Another breath, heavier than the first, left his chest.

He lowered his head.

"I apologize on everyone’s behalf for how we acted just now. Your appearance was too sudden, and the fact that you attacked right when you arrived threw everyone into chaos. We weren’t ready for that.

"I hope you can forgive us, and we can sit down and talk again like we used to."

Neo didn’t answer.

He didn’t even move.

His gaze was fixed on Felix, but there was nothing spoken in return.

Felix raised his head slowly.

He could see countless emotions in Neo’s eyes.

Anger, pain, confusion, and something deeper that even he couldn’t place.

Felix opened his mouth again, ready to say something, anything that might help, but he stopped himself.

What comfort could he offer now?

After what had just happened, any words would sound empty.

So instead of forcing something meaningless, Felix straightened.

His expression shifted back to a professional calm.

He pulled up his sleeve.

A faint glow shimmered along the skin of his arm, and he revealed the Dragon Mark etched into his flesh.

"We need to talk about this," Felix said firmly. "So please... send me a message when you have time. It’s important."

Neo’s frown deepened.

His eyes stayed on the mark.

Even with the headache tearing his mind apart, he forced himself to focus.

The mark carried a presence that tugged at his memory.

’That... it feels like Brother, after he awakened his Ancient Dragon Blood.’

Felix noticed the reaction.

"Seems like you recognize it," he said, but his eyes kept searching Neo’s face for confirmation.

Neo didn’t answer.

"See you later." Felix gave the faintest nod.

Without adding more, he let the glow fade and disappeared, leaving nothing behind but the ripple of mana.

Jack finally broke the silence. "Neo—"

"Later," Percival cut him off sharply, though his tone wasn’t unkind. "Let him rest for now. You can talk to him when he’s ready, when his mind is clearer."

Jack looked troubled, caught between worry and reluctance.

After a pause, he nodded, though the tension didn’t leave his shoulders.

"Don’t leave without meeting us again," he said. With that, he vanished as well, pulling Ilyana with him.

The void grew quiet again.

Only Neo and Percival remained in the space.

The air felt lighter without the others, but the silence was still heavy.

"...Thanks," Neo said after a long moment.

"There’s no need to thank me. I only spoke the truth." Percival waved his hand lightly, as if brushing the weight of the moment aside. "Come. Follow me."

He didn’t wait for a response.
