Chapter 719: Devils And Their Singularity

The guard leading them nodded slightly, confirming Jack’s words without turning his head.

They followed him through the palace grounds until the gambling den’s noise dimmed behind them.

He led them down a broad hallway lined with crystal lanterns, then up a stairwell to a quieter floor.

At the end of the hall was a large room that had been turned into a high-end bar.

It wasn’t crowded like the gambling den below.

The atmosphere here was calmer, meant for private meetings and expensive tastes.

Tables were spaced generously apart.

The air carried faint music from a piano at the far end.

The guard stopped and gestured. "This way, sirs."

Before they entered, he handed each of them a small metal charm, whose surface was engraved with faint runes.

"What’s this?" Jack asked.

"An artifact. Master requested you wear them. They will disguise your appearances from prying eyes."

Neo studied the charm for a second, then slipped it into his pocket before activating it.

A thin ripple ran across his skin, and he knew anyone looking wouldn’t see him as Neo Hargraves anymore.

Jack did the same, adjusting his collar afterward with a quiet shrug.

"Better than walking in with everyone staring at us," Jack muttered.

Inside, the bar was dimly lit, elegant, and clearly built to impress.

And sitting casually at one of the tables near the balcony were the two ’men’ they had come to see.

Felix, though at the moment not in male form.

Today he had taken a female form, dressed in a deep purple one-piece with an open back that revealed smooth pale skin.

Her hair was swept to one side, and her eyes gleamed with playful sharpness.

Unsurprisingly, several men had already approached her, trying their luck with drinks in hand.

Beside her sat Arthur.

Unlike Felix, Arthur wasn’t drinking or speaking to anyone.

He sat with his arms folded, back straight, and expression neutral.

His presence was quiet but carried weight all the same.

Compared to Felix’s relaxed charm, Arthur looked like he didn’t belong in such a place at all.

Neo frowned slightly. How can the two of them sit out here in the open like this?

Felix is only Stage 2. As for Arthur, he’s a Devil. His existence doesn’t crush weaker people unless he wills it. Jack’s voice brushed against his mind through telepathy.

Neo nodded faintly, but his eyes stayed fixed on the pair.

Felix noticed them then.

Her smile widened.

She leaned closer to the men lingering around her, whispered something, and they dispersed reluctantly. She

waved her hand toward Neo and Jack, her voice carrying clearly.

"Welcome, Neo, Jack. It’s been a long time since we met."

Arthur’s eyes shifted toward Neo.

He gave a single nod, acknowledging him without words.

Neo and Jack approached the table.

They sat down across from Felix and Arthur, returning the greetings.

"It really has been a while," Neo said.

For a moment, silence hung between them.

Felix reached for the glass on the table and poured everyone a drink.

She swirled hers lazily, then lifted it with a smirk.

Jack leaned closer, his eyebrows rising. "Huh. This..."

"It’s good stuff," Felix said with a grin. "I took it from the Karven and the Xilos in exchange for completing their hit request. They didn’t want to pay me in coin, so they offered me their liquor stash. Turns out it was worth more than the money."

Jack gave a short laugh, shaking his head.

Neo didn’t say anything at first.

He watched Felix, wondering how much of her easy manner was genuine and how much was a mask.
