Chapter 128
Chapter 128
:
Sherwood, Sophie, and Finn all turned to Mason at the same time.
Their eyes were wide open.
“What?”
“Dr. C?”

That legendary figure who could raise the dead, with an eccentric personality, mysterious and elusive, whose single dose of medicine is worth a fortune and hard to obtain… is Sienna?‘ they wondered.
But when they thought about it, it actually made sense.
Sienna had only just returned to the Cooper family a short while ago.
Stockpiling so many ultra–rare Heart–Protecting Pills and Vitality–Nourishing Pills would easily cost a fortune. -at least tens of millions.
What would a girl like Sienna even want with all those expensive pills?
Besides, there were only a handful of these pills circulating in all of Aurathen.
And Sienna could produce so many rare pills at once, even promising to create a special one custom–made for Sherwood.
That’s something only Dr. C could ever do.
Once they put it all together, Sherwood and Sophie’s gaze toward Mason was no longer just casual disdain.
‘Do you seriously think you deserve someone like her?‘ ‘What makes a guy like you worthy?‘–that’s what Mason could practically hear from Sherwood and Sophie’s expressions right then.
Sherwood was practically devastated, pointing accusingly at Mason and slapping his own thigh with exaggerated drama. “Didn’t I tell you before? He is way out of Sienna’s league. He honestly thinks he can pursue her?”
He felt that even considering Sienna as his future granddaughter–in–law was an insult to her.
The more Sherwood stared at Mason, the more convinced he was that there was no way Mason could ever measure up to Sienna.
Sophie rested her chin in her hand, chiming in, “Yeah, Mason. Aside from your looks, what else could possibly make you a match for Sienna?”
Then she pulled a long face, her brows scrunching up tight. “But I still want Sienna to be my sister–in–law. Ugh, what am I supposed to do?”
All the while, she threw Mason a glare. “This is all your fault for not being awesome enough. Ugh.”

Mason was left speechless.
:
He watched as his family gave him that look like they were ready to kick him out any minute.
He couldn’t help but touch his own face.

‘Come on, good looks are still an asset, right?‘ he thought. At least, Sienna’s got a thing for my face!
He could still employ his handsome–man strategy to win Sienna over.

Darkness blanketed the night.
Sienna steered her black Maybach onto the road heading out toward the suburbs.
After driving for an hour, she parked in a tucked–away spot in a rundown, abandoned factory zone.
Wild weeds crawled everywhere, and the silence was broken only by the buzzing of insects.
The moon hung cold and silver overhead, making the whole place feel all the more creepy and haunted.
Sienna stepped out of the car and walked with practiced ease into the depths of the half–collapsed factory building.
Dust and spiderwebs choked the place, and every breath carried the heavy stench of rot and moisture.
She finally came to a hulking iron door, streaked with rust and thickly encrusted with webs.
She reached up and quickly pressed a few times on a barely noticeable indentation beside the door.
A faint click could be heard in the quiet.
The heavy iron door slid open soundlessly, revealing a staircase leading down.
Inside, the brightly lit corridor felt worlds apart from the desolate ruin outside.
Sienna slipped into the corridor.
The iron door slid shut behind her, erasing every trace she’d ever been there–not even the cobwebs outside twitched.
After descending several flights of stairs, a hidden underground world came into view.
The contrast was striking: this place was all steel, screens, and sterile efficiency–a stark, futuristic bunker worlds apart from the ruins upstairs.
“Boss, you’re here.” Titan strode over to greet her.
Several armed men in black tactical uniforms followed close behind.

When they saw Sienna, each one immediately lowered their weapons and bowed respectfully, calling out,
“Boss.”
This place was the clandestine headquarters of the Ghost Alliance–Sienna’s crew from the Hollow Dreadlands–right in the heart of Orlathis City.
Heavily guarded, locked down tight, and totally off the grid, only a select inner circle of Ghost Alliance knew this spot even existed.
Sienna gave a slight nod and strode inside. “What’s the situation?”
Titan trailed behind her, rattling off the report as they walked. “We’ve got some leads on what you asked us to look into.
“The hitmen who ambushed you on the road were taken in by the Ministry of National Defense, but thanks to some off–the–books connections, we still managed to get our hands on their initial interrogation reports and background files.
“Those hitmen are tied to the same shadowy group as the Crow–the one who infiltrated Ernest’s convoy at the Phantom Bay race track.”
Titan and Sienna made their way briskly through the heavily guarded corridor, stepping into the secure command center buried deep at the heart of the bunker.
Wall–to–wall screens glowed, packed with dense streams of data and sprawling maps.
Titan said, “We’ve confirmed it’s the remnants of Retorchi–a deadly assassin ring with bases scattered across Archipeland, originally from Baletin. They’re the kind who thrive in gray areas–brutal, merciless, and always out for revenge.”
As he spoke, he pulled up another set of files.
A blurry profile picture and a list of encrypted contacts appeared on the screen. “From the fragmented messages we intercepted, we traced the cash flow… Turns out, the real orders come straight from Baletin, from an outfit codenamed Kagutsuchi.”
“Their leader, Black Python, is a total ghost–hardly any intel on him. All we know is he’s been working closely with Retorchi for years. My guess? Yamata is probably one of Kagutsuchi’s covert overseas factions.”
The other party supported such a force, embedded it in Aurathen, and targeted Aurathen’s military and research endeavors.
Their motives were obvious to anyone.
Sienna’s eyes darkened with quiet determination as she stared at the hazy profile picture.
“Boss,” Titan said, his voice tense. “You’ve ripped out everything they’ve spent years building in Aurathen, crushed their almost–successful heist, and just took down the best operatives they had left…
“With Black Python and Retorchi’s vengeful style, their payback will be brutal. Whatever they do next… it’ll be like getting hit by a storm out of nowhere.

“Boss, things are way too dangerous out there for you right now. We all think you should lay low in the base for a bit. Let us take out Retorchi and Kagutsuchi first, then it’ll be safe for you to come out.”
Sienna stood in front of the massive screen, her frosty, confident gaze shining with the wealth of intel on Retorchi and Kagutsuchi reflected in her eyes.
Unfazed and perfectly composed, she responded, “Stay in the base?”
She gave a low, amused chuckle. “Danger? Since when have I ever backed down from that? Hiding away just isn’t my thing.”
Titan couldn’t argue with that.
There was that time when Sienna was just a little girl, around ten, and she marched into the Hollow Dreadlands all by herself–just because she needed herbs from some dangerous island out there.
Back then, death never even crossed her mind.
Titan could still remember it like it was yesterday.
That day, Sienna walked off that island covered head to toe in blood.
She clutched the precious herb against her chest, protecting it fiercely even through all the chaos.
Her face was splattered red, but the cold, lethal glare in her eyes couldn’t be masked. She looked like Hades himself, crawling straight out of hell.
After that, she beat everyone into total submission.
Then, all on her own, she founded her own gang right in the Hollow Dreadlands–a place so brutal, where people kill without shedding blood, and the word ‘rules‘ means nothing.
And in less than a year, she turned her crew into a powerhouse that everyone steered clear of.
The words Ghost Alliance and Hades–just hearing those names made folks all over the Hollow Dreadlands shudder in terror.
No doubt about it, she was the undisputed Hades.
There wasn’t a single soul she’d ever feared.
Now, Titan looked at Sienna like she was a living legend, admiration and worship shining in his eyes.
