Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 153

The room carried the same minimalist style as the hallway, though it was cluttered with all sorts of electronics.

Joyce shot Emilia a look, then tugged her forward. She let Seven go in first before the two of them followed.

Probably not the friendliest guy, Emilia thought. Or maybe he just really hated being interrupted.

"Hey, is the data restored yet? I brought them over," Seven called out, completely unfazed as he strode in.

Emilia felt Joyce give her sleeve a gentle pull, urging her forward. Together, they walked over.

"Almost done," replied the man in thick black-rimmed glasses, eyes fixed on the computer.

Emilia watched the progress bar crawl toward completion. Once it finished, the man finally turned around. "Alright, it's ready. Take a look—see what you need. Let me know if you want anything else."

He didn't so much as glance at the others—just stepped aside, giving them space.

He was all logic and zero warmth.

"Should I do it?" Joyce asked quietly, gesturing to herself. After all, it was Odette's phone—it didn't seem right for anyone else to go digging through it.

"Sure!" Seven said, immediately moving aside to chat with the guy in glasses.

Emilia stayed close to Joyce, watching as she searched for the recordings.

The room was so quiet, all they could hear was the soft clicking of the mouse.

"That's her—Emilia. She's Tyler's wife, and Serena's—" Seven was whispering to the man in glasses.

They kept their voices low, but Emilia caught the words anyway.

She could feel a pair of eyes flicker over her before quickly looking away.

Just then—

"Got it!" Joyce exclaimed, the sudden cheerfulness shattering the silence.

"Really? Let's see if it works!" Seven hurried over, and together they pulled up the video to play.

Emilia understood his misgivings. Footage shot on a phone would never compare to being there in person. And knowing his brother, he'd probably hyped up the whole thing beyond belief.

If the video didn't live up to Seven's big talk, the letdown could be hard to shake.

"We just need to release it at the right moment. That's all it takes," Emilia said calmly.

Right then, her phone buzzed.

She checked the screen—Christian was calling.

"Christian," she answered.

"Emilia, fantastic news!" Christian's voice was buzzing with excitement on the other end. "I finally got the dirt on Wyatt and cornered his right-hand man. We can kick him out anytime you want! So, what do you say—today, tomorrow, or right now?"

As Christian's laughter echoed through the phone, a slow smile crept across Emilia's face.

At last—the opportunity had arrived.
