Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 271

Within minutes, the internet was ablaze.

“Whoa, so Emilia’s true colors are showing? I used to think she was the type to keep her cool. Guess she’s finally stepping into the drama!”

“I’m loving this. Bring on the chaos! This is my kind of entertainment!”

“Come on, fight already! Let’s see some action!”

“Honestly, I don’t care if it’s Vivienne or Emilia—I’m just here for the drama. Pass the popcorn!”

“Neither of them seem like saints, but I’m rooting for Vivienne. At least she’s doing something good, speaking out for those who are sick.”

Vivienne nearly exploded with rage as she scrolled through the comments. In one furious motion, she hurled her mug across the room.

She should have just gone to Prism Ivy House with Tyler earlier. Emilia must have spotted Owen and waited there on purpose!

Damn that Emilia!

Vivienne had assumed she’d given up—never expected her to pull a stunt like this.

Her eyes burned with resentment.

She reached for her phone to make a call but stopped herself at the last second.

Instead, she grabbed a different phone and dialed another, more discreet number.

It only rang once before someone picked up.

“What is it?” came a curt voice.

“Did you look into what I asked about? Is that person still alive?” Vivienne lowered her voice, disguising it with a rough edge.

“You mean the guy hit on the outskirts of town?” The sound of rapid mouse clicks echoed through the line—her contact was searching for information.

“Yes,” she rasped.

A few more clicks. “He survived, but… he’s basically in a vegetative state. There’s a slim chance he’ll wake up, but it’s not likely.”

“Got it.” Vivienne’s voice dropped even lower before she ended the call.

She powered off the phone and finally let out a shaky breath. Relief, if only for a moment, washed over her.

“You’re not mad?” George peered at his brother for a reaction.

Theodore turned back to his reports. “She just got divorced. I’d say that calls for a celebration.”

“Oh.” George nodded, wandering back to his videos, careful not to disturb his brother.

Inwardly, though, his admiration for Emilia only grew. Beautiful, smart, and capable of driving his usually unflappable brother absolutely nuts—she really was something else.

Theodore was long accustomed to his brother’s boisterous antics.

Once George rummaged off to the kitchen for snacks, Theodore glanced down at the cat beside him.

The little tabby stretched out luxuriously, kneading the cushion with its paws. “Meow~”

Theodore chuckled, giving the cat a gentle pat on the head.

Meanwhile, over at Prism Ivy House,

Emilia, Joyce, and the others were finally wrapping up for the night.
