He said, “I’m putting you in charge of marketing this batch of gemstones. Let’s see what you can do.”
Under the soft lights, the gemstones sparkled brilliantly.
Emilia lifted her gaze to Theodore.
“How much freedom do I have?” she asked.
“The most you can imagine.” Theodore smiled. “You could say—you’re free to do whatever you want.”
Emilia’s lips parted, caught off guard by the extent of his trust. She truly couldn’t understand why he was willing to go this far for her—not from the moment he confessed to her, and not now.
Still...
She lowered her eyes to the six gemstones in the velvet tray. “Don’t worry,” she said quietly. “Our partnership will bring you returns you won’t be disappointed with.”
Theodore’s grin widened. “I’m counting on it.”

Meanwhile—
Things at the Erickson Group had already begun to spiral.
What started as office gossip had quickly made its way to the business columns. Financial bloggers across every major platform were dissecting the divorce, analyzing every possible impact.
One financial blog wrote: “We’ve seen cases where a high-profile divorce leads to a split of shares, and the wife cashes out at the peak—those cases always send the stock price tumbling.”
The comment section exploded:
“Last time that happened, I lost three days’ worth of limit-downs—I’ll never forget it!”
“Same here! Still stuck in that trade, couldn’t get out if I tried.”
“Tyler and Emilia aren’t going to pull the same stunt, are they?”
“How should we know? Damn it, I should’ve seen the signs when Tyler kept showing up in public with Vivienne. Vivienne, why are you messing with him when you’re barely hanging on? Let him and Emilia work things out! I’m ruined!”
