Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 334

Emilia didn’t want to answer.

What was the point of digging up the past now? Then and now were two entirely different worlds. All she could say was, her love had been genuine back then, but taking it back now was the choice she had to make in this moment.

Her gaze fell on the wooden fox figurine in her hand.

A fox?

So that was how he saw her.

But she had never been a fox. All she’d ever offered was her own honest heart. Now, though, that heart was battered and bruised.

She pressed the carved fox back into Raymond’s hand.

But Raymond didn’t take it.

He spoke softly, “Keep it. I had to bring you a gift before you head home. Sure, I carved it myself, it’s not worth much, but maybe think of it as a wish token. Any wish I can grant you.”

He grinned, teasing, “I’d even hand over everything I own, my life included, if that’s what you wanted.”

He’d finally figured it out. All these years, it wasn’t that he’d never met the right person—he just hadn’t realized it when he did. And by then, she’d already belonged to someone else.

But now, she was free again. There was still time. Still hope.

Emilia only smiled.

She let out a soft sigh, gently took his hand, and returned the little fox to his palm.

“What would I do with your life?” she said quietly. “Take it back.”

She was done entangling herself in old debts. One Tyler had already left her heart in shreds.

Raymond looked like he wanted to protest, but then a shadow fell across them.

It was Theodore.

He smiled at Raymond, then turned his gaze to Emilia.

“I saw you two chatting for a while, so I thought I’d come check in,” Theodore said.

“You…” Raymond’s patience for interruptions was wearing thin—until he saw Theodore’s face, and the words caught in his throat.

“It’s you?” Raymond blurted, glancing from Emilia to Theodore, eyes flickering with confusion.
