Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 354

Emilia looked at Vivienne and smiled. “Why do you assume I’d just keep quiet about all this?”

Vivienne stared at her, as if she’d just taken a blow to the head.

“What are you talking about?”

Tyler, standing off to the side, frowned at the woman in the frog costume. Was she toying with them? After all, she’d just said she needed money—wasn’t that a sign she was ready to compromise?

Emilia met their eyes, her expression calm and unyielding.

“There are some things,” she said in a husky voice, “that can’t be fixed with a simple ‘sorry’ after the damage is done.”

No matter the reasons or good intentions—hurt is still hurt.

“I’m not selling my rights to the song.” She looked at them squarely. “If you insisted on meeting with me, then here’s my answer.”

Vivienne opened her mouth to object, but Emilia just smiled. “Let’s not forget—you were the ones who forced me to sell you the song in the first place.”

She paused slightly, turning her gaze directly to Vivienne. “And for the record, I never forced you to steal it.”

With that, Emilia rose from her seat. Christian, looking far too pleased with himself, stood to join her, and together they made for the door.

“Emy.” Tyler’s voice called from behind.

Emilia didn’t turn around.

“I hope you’ll think this through,” he continued, his tone gentler. “You have real talent. If we can resolve this, the Erickson Group would be willing to invest in your career. We could make you a star.”

But the woman in the frog costume just strode out of the conference room without a backward glance.

Vivienne glared after her, so furious her face seemed twisted. That pretender was just playing hard to get, trying to squeeze more out of them when she saw they couldn’t agree!

And Tyler—Vivienne shot him a resentful look—what was wrong with him?

“Let’s go,” Tyler said. Vivienne forced herself to look wounded.

“We’ll put the show on hold for now. I’ll introduce you to some other projects,” Tyler added, still watching Emilia’s retreating form. What was this woman really after?

Vivienne stayed silent.

Maybe Tyler could move on to any project he liked, but for her, Vivi’s Whispers was different.

Later that evening, Emilia changed into a blue dress.

As dusk settled in, Theodore’s car pulled up outside her apartment. His nerves were obvious, but when she slid into the passenger seat, both anticipation and relief lit up his face.

They drove out toward the harbor together.

“I was worried you might change your mind,” Theodore admitted only once they’d arrived at their destination.

Emilia turned to him, her eyes warm. “Why would I? I’ve been looking forward to this.”

Together, they walked into the restaurant Theodore had painstakingly chosen—tucked away from the bustle, quiet and elegant.

Outside, the harbor glowed beneath the setting sun, where the blue of the sea met streaks of orange sky. It was beautiful.

Neither of them noticed the reporter lurking in the shadows, camera clicking away.

“There’s the story—Theodore booked out this whole place to woo his mystery woman. Finally caught them together! Keep snapping!”

“And later, I’ll slip in disguised as staff. We have to get a shot of her face!”
