Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 366

After repeating himself several times, Tyler suddenly seemed to regain his composure. He wiped the tears from his face, as if making up his mind about something. Then, he started the car again and drove off, leaving everything behind.

Meanwhile, Emilia was sitting alone on her living room couch. She’d actually overheard the conversation Tyler and Theodore had earlier. Even though she’d already stepped inside the house, she’d kept her distance, watching them anxiously from afar, worried things might escalate.

Buzz, buzz, buzz…

Her phone vibrated, snapping her out of her thoughts. Glancing down, she saw Christian’s name lighting up the screen. She hesitated for a moment, then picked up.

Christian asked about Theodore, and Emilia didn’t hide anything. She told him about the agreement she’d made with Theodore.

“So, are you thinking about being with him?” Christian asked quietly.

“I don’t know,” Emilia replied, her gaze drifting to the warm glow of a lamp nearby. “It’s still so new. I can’t say for sure yet.”

“Emilia…”

Christian said her name, then fell silent. The quiet stretched between them, comfortable and a little sad.

Finally, he spoke again. “We’ll still make a good team, won’t we?”

“Of course,” Emilia said, nodding instinctively. “We always have, since the very beginning.”

“That’s good. I was worried if you decided to be with Theodore, you’d leave me out in the cold,” Christian said, trying to sound lighthearted, and Emilia could hear the relief in his voice.

“As if I ever could,” she laughed.

After the call ended, Christian stared at his phone for a long time. In the end, he smiled to himself. They’d always been partners, and that wasn’t about to change.

Back at Emilia’s place, no sooner had she hung up with Christian than her phone rang again—this time, it was Joyce McCarthy. Emilia gave her the same explanation.

Once the calls were done, Emilia went to wash up, her mind already turning over ideas for the Glenn Group’s new product launch.

Theodore: There was no affair, no insider dealings. My brother George was just a normal fan. I only confessed my feelings to Emilia after her divorce. Serena’s outstanding performance truly impressed me. I’m pursuing her now, but nothing’s happened yet.

His direct response immediately smothered the rumor before it could grow.

Now, all the gossip shifted: “Wait, he hasn’t succeeded yet?”

“I heard Theodore’s been chasing after a mystery woman. Turns out it’s Emilia—and he still hasn’t won her over! Hahaha.”

“Poor guy, this is almost tragic.”

“If you look at the recent gossip, the timeline actually matches up.”

“Honestly, after seeing Serena’s performance on Voice of the Divine, it’s no wonder he fell for her!”

With that, no one questioned the timeline or suspected any backdoor deals. After all, everyone still remembered how the whole internet had once turned against Serena.
