Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 385

Emy was suddenly trending, with people online claiming she was just imitating Emilia’s vocal style.

After all, when Vivienne had released the revamped version of Vivi’s Whispers, Emy had been featured in the launch. Back then, people accused Emy of just trying to cash in on the hype, calling her an opportunist.

But no one could deny the runaway success of the Blue collection.

Emy’s Blue single was selling like crazy; it shot straight into the top ten of the new releases chart.

And that wasn’t even the end of it. By evening, a playful poll started circulating online:

Who would come out on top—Emilia or Vivienne?

Everyone got one vote a day. No prizes, just pure entertainment, but it sparked everyone’s curiosity.

The audience flocked to cast their votes.

Riding the wave of Emilia’s Blue collection success that day, she quickly pulled ahead, overtaking Vivienne in the poll.

Vivienne was fuming.

“All she did was sell a few mid-range jewelry pieces. Even if her contract gives her a cut of the sales, how much could it possibly be? And suddenly people think she’s outshining me?” Vivienne paced furiously around the Vivian Floral Atelier.

“And as for Emy, teaming up with Emilia—how dare she!”

Her assistant, looking nervous, mumbled, “Well, Emy is signed with Donovan Entertainment. It makes sense for her to collaborate with Emilia, right?”

Vivienne shot her a glare that instantly shut her up.

The assistant fell silent, while Vivienne’s eyes glinted with calculation.

Now that Emy and Emilia were publicly collaborating, they were tied to each other’s fortunes. It was hard to dig up dirt on one person, but if you targeted two, it got much easier.

If she could catch Emy making a mistake, she might be able to drag Emilia down with her.

Besides, Emy was probably just waiting for the best offer.

Vivienne had seen it that day—Emy was stalling, watching for Christian Donovan’s reaction while stringing their side along. Maybe now she was just waiting for them to make a move.

So, for once, everyone was together.

“Emily, I knew you could do it!” Joyce McCarthy beamed. “You have no idea—so many of my coworkers were talking about buying the products you’re endorsing!”

Felix McCarthy took a long swig of wine and nodded. “I can vouch for that—guys in my department are thinking of buying them as gifts for their girlfriends.”

Everyone burst out laughing.

But the happiest of all was Christian.

He stood in the middle of the room, hands on his hips, laughing heartily.

“I have no idea what’s wrong with Wyatt’s head,” Christian bellowed. “He actually thought he could pick a fight with Emily—look how that blew up in his face!”

“Emily, I have to tell you, I roasted him good when he came slinking back. And then the old man chewed him out for embarrassing himself!”

“He deserved it!” George Glenn chimed in, sending the group into another round of laughter.
