Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 446

Tyler and Owen hurried all the way to the rehabilitation center.

Owen said he needed to take care of something and left, while Tyler made his way alone through the quiet corridor to the hospital room Secretary Jensen had told him about earlier.

Secretary Jensen stood guard outside the door. When he saw Tyler approach, he immediately stood up.

“Mr. Erickson.”

Tyler gave a brief nod. “What’s the situation now?”

Israel took a moment to collect his thoughts, then explained, “After Mr. Owen and I cut off Miss Vivienne’s livestream, I thought it wasn’t safe for her to stay at Hillside Manor, so I moved her to a nearby apartment.”

“I was trying to persuade her to come clean about everything, and… she slit her wrist.”

Israel was still visibly shaken.

Vivienne had clearly planned it—she pulled out a knife so fast, for a second I thought she was going to stab me instead.

“Once we got here, the doctors treated her,” Secretary Jensen continued, “the bleeding’s stopped, and there’s a nurse keeping an eye on her. But…”

Tyler understood what Israel meant.

He nodded. “Find her previous attending physician. And get her file from Records—print it and bring it to me.”

Secretary Jensen looked relieved. He straightened up, nodded quickly, and hurried off to do as he was told.

Once Secretary Jensen had gone, Tyler pushed open the door.

Inside the single room, Vivienne was half-reclined on the hospital bed, her wrist wrapped in thick layers of gauze, faint traces of red still seeping through.

A nurse sat nearby, quietly peeling an apple for her.

Vivienne looked pale. When she heard the door, she turned her head, and when she saw that it was Tyler, she managed a small, strained smile.

“Tyler, you came,” she said weakly. “I thought you wouldn’t want to see me again.”

“Do you have anything you want to say to me?” Tyler finally asked. “Anything you want to come clean about?”

Vivienne hesitated, guessing he was talking about what happened at Hillside Manor.

Her lips trembled. Suddenly, tears welled up and streamed down her face.

“Tyler, I know I shouldn’t have gone to Hillside Manor to livestream without your permission.”

She’d been working herself up for this, and now that Tyler was here, her tears came right on cue.

“But the pipes burst over at Mr. Owen’s place. I had no choice, so I went over there instead.”

She abruptly sat up straighter, reaching out to clutch Tyler’s hand, crying harder. “I didn’t know what was in that house—I didn’t know about the wedding photos of you and her, or about any of that…”

“Tyler, I swear I didn’t mean to. I’m so sorry.”

Her tears splashed onto the back of Tyler’s hand, her whole demeanor radiating helplessness.
