*~Aurora’s POV~*
The lion growled while it was in front of me. I wanted to reach for the knife, but it was too far away from me. "Calm down, lion. I mean no harm," I said. The lion growled louder as it started crawling toward me. I immediately got up and started running, and it chased after me.
"Husband, help!" I screamed for Leon to come help me, but he didn’t. Instead, he just remained there, laughing his heart out as the lion chased me.
"It will kill me! Kill it!"
"You are a man!" he said.
But how can I take down a huge-ass lion, literally big enough to tear me apart in just one slice? I managed to get behind a tree, hiding from it, as the lion stood there. Then it started sniffing me out.
"Oh my God! Leon, help!"
The lion caught my voice and then, in one slice, cut the tree. The tree fell, and I immediately fell on my butt. The lion started walking toward me. So here it is—me dying.
Then, that was when Leon finally rushed over to my side, and then, the lion pounced. I immediately closed my eyes, knowing I’m dead already.
Then, there was silence.
Is this heaven? Because absolutely not—absolutely not—is the lion pouncing on me, feeling disgust. When I opened my eyes, it was the lion licking my forehead. I turned over to Leon, who was also wearing the same confused gaze, and he said, "What is this? And what is he doing?"
"It seems you tamed the lion. That’s even more of a man."
"Tamed?" Then I saw the lion wiggle its tail and hop around, then come back and lick me again. I got up, and the lion immediately approached me again, licked my feet, then my hand.
"What is he doing, husband?"
"You’ve tamed the lion. I’m guessing the lion likes you. This is actually the first time I’m seeing a lion get tamed. Should I scare it off? Or are you still scared?"
"Yes, please."
Then the man was about to shift when the lion licked me again.
"Wait, wait, wait." I immediately stretched my hand toward Leon. "I think I like him."
"What?" He turned to me. "This is a huge lion. Don’t tell me you’re about to keep it as a pet."
"But he’s so cute. Look at the way he’s looking at me. I guess he likes me." The lion circled me again, and then Leon tried to touch it, but it growled at him.
"Uh-oh. Looks like my pet does not like you."
"Pet?"
"Yes, it is my pet from now on, and since I’m going to be living in a place as boring and ugly as this, I’ll need something to cheer me up." I bent down and rubbed the lion’s body as it purred. "Oh my God, isn’t it so cute?"
"This is a wild animal that can kill you the moment it becomes hungry," Leon said. "I am married to a wild animal. Of course, I can also keep another wild animal as a pet. But you’re married to a wild animal. You are a wolf. You literally can also eat me when you’re hungry, and I am just a witch—cosplaying as a human—so someday I may appear as a delicious delicacy for you."
"The only time you appear as a delicious delicacy for me is going to be on the bed, not literally."
"Well, I see no difference between you and the lion," I said as I kept rubbing the lion.
"What? There are differences—many differences—between me and this dumb-ass lion." Leon raised his voice, and the lion roared at him, making him pounce back.
"Well, you see the difference? The lion is not scared of you, and you are terrified of it."
"Please." He brought out his claws. "I can cut this lion’s head right this moment, and I will never let you—"
"Leon is mine from now on. You need to respect that." I stood up. "Where can we put this lion?"
"This is a lion, Aurora."
"Eric," I corrected him. "My name is Eric from now on. And what could be more manly than keeping a lion as a pet? So cute. It is nice to be a lioness."
"It is a lion," Leon said.
I bent down, checking the lion’s genitals. "So, I am now a man from now on. I did not kill a wild animal; I tamed the wild animal."
I got up and started walking, and the lion followed me.
"Have you seriously lost your brains? No way this lion is going to be living in my house."
"Our house," I corrected him. "Now, let’s get back to building."
"In the middle of the night? Hell no." His stomach growled again. Mine did too. And soon, with Kovu’s growl joining ours, I guessed we were still hungry.
"Now I guess we are going to be killing your pet," Leon said. "Do you want to die of hunger? The goddess literally sent us this lion for us to eat, not for us to keep as a pet."
"No." I immediately wrapped my hands around it. "We are not going to be killing—Kovu."
"Kovu?"
"Yes. That’s his name. I’ve named it. Kovu."
