*Leon’s POV~*
"Oh, I’ve forgotten this your lion-pet is still alive," I said, while she immediately turned all her attention to him, rubbing his body while he was licking her.
Jealousy swelled in my chest as she started paying more attention to him.
I just ignored them as I started putting bricks up on bricks until I realized I had run out of materials.
Then I dusted my hands and turned to her.
"Hello. Hello there."
She turned to me. "What?"
"I’m going back to the market square. I want to go get some equipment. I’ve run out of some materials and I need more equipment."
"Oh, let’s go then."
And then I stared at her... and then at her lion... and then back at her.
"You expect me to take a woman who is not so good at pretending to be a man—and some nasty lion-pet she has—to follow me?" I said.
She shrugged her shoulders. "What is wrong with this?"
"Please, just stay behind here. I’ll be going. Not too far. Understand?"
She nodded while she sat.
"You will meet me exactly on this spot. Good girl."
I rubbed her hair.
She slapped my hand off.
"I’m a man, not a girl. Talk to me like a man."
"Okay, mate." I hit her shoulder.
"Oh my God! Don’t hit me like that!"
"What? You told me to greet like a man."
"I did not say you should hit me like a man!"
"Fine. I’m going, Eric. I’ll try not to take long."
"Buy some chickens on your way. I’m so starving."
I rubbed my eyes. "Oh, so hard."
I walked and reached the market square. By then the wolves there were very busy.
The city was almost like New Orleans. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
My stomach groaned as I remembered New Orleans for a while.
I wonder how Sophia, Hazel, and everyone back home are doing.
They’ve probably been looking for me and Aurora by now.
Is it selfish that I’m keeping Aurora all to myself and starting a new life here?
But I guess that’s the best for the two of us. If I go back to New Orleans, Sophia will be there. Hazel will force me to consummate my marriage with her.
And so many things...
But if I’m here, I’ll be living a peaceful life together with my wife.
Even though she’s not technically my wife.
But I’ll stay here with Aurora and everything.
My life seems peaceful here.
Although not exactly the one I want...
But me and Aurora—we can have children and live a very normal life.
I took a deep breath, knowing that I’m going to sacrifice my post as Beta to live as a rogue wolf.
Then something caught my eyes.
They were putting posters everywhere.
I immediately approached one that people gathered around, and my breath hitched as I saw it was Aurora there.
What? What is Aurora’s picture doing there as wanted?
"Oh my God, that’s me!" I heard the voice from behind me, and I turned to see Aurora standing.
