Fated To Three, Betrayed By All… Until She Rose novel Chapter 133

**Healing Slowly But Surely By R. Joseph**

As I stood there, my breath caught in my throat, I felt the tension in the air shift. I turned on my heel, moving as quietly as a whisper, my heart heavy with unspoken emotions. Just then, he leaned closer, his voice barely above a murmur, “I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything for you earlier. But I’ll make Leilani pay for hurting you.”

A part of me wanted to smile at his fierce protectiveness, but another part of me felt an unsettling mix of gratitude and guilt.

“Don’t worry, I’ll make her pay myself,” I thought, a fierce determination igniting within me.

I nodded stiffly, my voice barely a whisper as I replied, “You don’t have to…”

“Oh, but I want to,” he insisted, his tone almost playful, yet laced with sincerity. “I want you to always be happy, and I’m always here to help, regardless of what you need.” His words wrapped around me like a warm blanket, momentarily easing the chill of my worries, but that warmth flickered and faded too quickly.

I managed a soft smile, feeling a mix of appreciation and melancholy. Bowing my head slightly, I said, “Thank you.” With that, I turned away and ascended the stairs, my heart heavy with conflicting emotions as I retreated to the solitude of my room.

Just as I slipped inside, a sudden buzz from my purse jolted me. I fished out my phone, glancing at the screen, and felt my heart plummet when I saw it was a message from Louis.

The text read:
“I want you to come over today, this instant even. I need to taste you.”

My pulse quickened, the words echoing in my mind like a siren calling me to the edge of a cliff. I frowned, my fingers trembling slightly as I typed back:
“Lou, it’s late. I can’t come now. Let me just come tomorrow instead!”

Less than ten seconds later, my phone vibrated again:
“No. I want you now. And if you don’t come, remember that I have Kael’s number.”

A wave of frustration washed over me as I stared at the screen, my heart sinking deeper into a pit of despair. How did I end up in such a tangled web? I hated myself for being caught in this predicament, and I despised Lou even more for putting me in this position.

If he kept this up, it was only a matter of time before someone uncovered the secret we were desperately trying to hide. The thought sent shivers down my spine. I didn’t want anyone to know about us, especially not now.
