**Healing Slowly But Surely**

**The Color ‘Jealousy’**
Caelum.
A searing agony coursed through me, blinding and fierce, as I locked eyes with Alpha Frostclaw. The smug expression plastered on his face was almost unbearable. He looked so self-satisfied, as if landing a hit on me was a personal victory.
In that moment, anger coiled tightly in my gut, a ferocious serpent ready to strike. But it was the sight of Leilani’s delight that fanned the flames of my rage even further.
Her face lit up, a wicked smile spreading across her lips. It was as if my pain was a source of entertainment for her. The blood trickling down my face, soaking into my shirt, made me feel like a discarded rag, and she reveled in it.
I felt the growl rise in my throat, the urge to charge at Frostclaw overwhelming me. But just as I was about to unleash my fury, a firm grip seized my arm from behind.
Zevran. My cowardly brother.
His hold was like iron, unyielding and fierce, and I could feel the tension radiating from him. “E.N.O.U.G.H!” he barked, his voice a low growl.
“Are you serious?!” I shouted, my voice rising in pitch, fueled by indignation. “You’re just going to stand there and let this… this…” I faltered, searching for the right words to describe Alpha Frostclaw without being too disrespectful. “… man hit me like that?! And all you can muster is ‘enough’?”
“Caelum!”
“Don’t call my name!” I snapped, yanking my arm free from his grip in annoyance. “Don’t treat me like I’m some reckless child!”
“If you truly understood the gravity of the situation, you’d realize you’ve crossed a line. We’re on Frostclaw territory. Look around!”
It was then that the weight of our predicament settled in my stomach, heavy and oppressive like a boulder lodged in a ditch. Gritting my teeth, I turned away in frustration. “Whatever!”
Zevran, however, wasn’t done. He tilted his head slightly, not toward me but to them, and muttered, “I apologize for what transpired here today, Ms. Sinclair and Alpha Frostclaw. Perhaps we can discuss business at a later time.”
Alpha Jarek scoffed, dismissively. Leilani averted her gaze, but I couldn’t help but notice the satisfaction radiating from her, like blood seeping from a fresh wound.
She was genuinely enjoying this spectacle!
What a conniving little vixen!
“Please…” Zevran added, and I felt an overwhelming urge to smack him across the face, wishing to inflict upon him the same pain that coursed through my body.
My fury intensified as Jarek stepped forward, his chest nearly brushing against Zevran’s. “I will not engage in any business dealings with either of you in the future,” he spat, his expression darkening. “However, if Leilani chooses to pursue business with you later, that is entirely her decision.”
My blood boiled, a seething cauldron of rage.
To my surprise, Zevran didn’t seem angry at all. He turned to Leilani, his gaze softening inexplicably. “I guess I’ll have to catch up with you another time then?”
Leilani scoffed at him, her tone dripping with disdain. “Save it.” With that, she strutted away, not sparing us a second glance.
Alpha Frostclaw followed suit, casting us a cold glare that only fueled my anger further. It was clear she had him wrapped around her little finger, and Leilani, the ever-manipulative witch, was riding the wave of her triumph.
“Bitch!” I muttered under my breath, causing Zevran to turn toward me, eyebrows raised in surprise. “Can’t you see how smug she is about everything that just happened? Look how perfect they look together!”
“Caelum!”
