Fated To Three, Betrayed By All… Until She Rose novel Chapter 69

**Healing Slowly But Surely**
By R. Joseph

Leilani.

The moment I stirred from sleep, a fiery throb radiated from the back of my skull, as if my mind was trying to recall a forgotten nightmare. My eyes fluttered open, and I was met with a disheartening sight: scratch marks marred the walls and my bed, chaotic lines etched into the surfaces like a wild animal had been trapped within. I sat upright, groaning softly, my heart racing as the reality of my disheveled room sank in.

But what puzzled me most was the blank space in my memory.

I could vividly recall the moment I had stormed out of Jay’s car, rain drenching me to the bone, but beyond that, my mind was a fog. How had I found my way back to my room? And why were there scratch marks marring the bed I slept on?

My gaze dropped, and I gasped at the sight of my once-elegant dress, now torn and ragged, hanging off me like a tattered flag of defeat.

“What the hell happened?” I muttered under my breath, frustration bubbling within me.

After a moment of contemplation, I managed to drag myself to the shower, letting the hot water wash away the remnants of the night. I changed into something more presentable, feeling a small sense of normalcy return. My stomach growled, reminding me that I was long overdue for a meal, so I decided to whip up something for breakfast—well, technically lunch, given that the clock had already passed noon.

As I trudged down to the kitchen, the rhythmic pounding on my door made me pause. My frown deepened. Without bothering to check the intercom, I swung the door open, only to find my parents and brother standing there, their faces twisted in the familiar expressions of disdain.

Oh no, not again… Not today!

I rolled my eyes, exasperation spilling over. “What do you want?”

“Chalice told us about last night,” Gavin declared, a hint of triumph in his voice.

‘Of course she did,’ I thought bitterly, but I quickly pushed that thought aside. Folding my arms across my chest, I leaned against the door, letting my irritation seep through. “And what exactly did she say about last night? How is it any of my concern that she despises being called Candy?”

“Candy?” Gavin scoffed, a derisive laugh escaping his lips. “How is that even an issue?”

“Well, I should be the one asking you!” I shot back, my voice rising. “Jay only called her Candy, so I have to wonder why she’s been spreading rumors about us bullying her.”

The looks on their faces were priceless, a mixture of shock and disbelief. My father scowled, his brows knitting together in anger. My mother looked as if someone had dropped a brick on her head, and Gavin stared at me as though I had lost my mind.

A heavy silence enveloped us, broken only when Gavin spoke up, his voice dripping with curiosity. “Who’s Jay?”

“Alpha Jarek Frostclaw,” I replied dryly, suppressing the urge to roll my eyes again. “Now, can I please return to my life?”

“So you and Alpha Frostclaw bullied Chalice last night?” Gavin pressed, the malice creeping back into his tone. He turned to my father, his voice dripping with mockery, “And Chalice didn’t mention that to us?”

I frowned, the frustration boiling over. “So what the hell did she tell you if it wasn’t that I bullied her?”

Oh goddess, how I loathed this family. The sheer stupidity of it all made my blood boil—every single one of them, including me at that moment.

“So you’re admitting to bullying her?!” Gavin growled, and I couldn’t resist rolling my eyes this time.

I snickered, the sound escaping me before I could hold it back. “Maybe you should go ask her. Now, can you kindly remove yourself from my property?”

“Is that not enough for you? You weren’t satisfied with making her lose her baby with the Alphas. Now you’ve resorted to bullying her too? And at an event, no less?!”

With each word that fell from his lips, my anger surged. I clenched my fists so tightly that my nails bit into my palms, but I remained silent, a storm of fury brewing in my chest.

“You’re a wretched disgrace! A stain on the Blackthorne family! I curse the day you were born—”

“Gavin, enough!” my father barked, cutting off his tirade with a fierce authority that made me flinch.
