Zachary’s face grew darker and darker as he marched out the door with Luisa in tow.

Norah watched Zachary’s retreating figure in shock as a knot of unease formed in her stomach. They had all been living together like family for years

now.

Zachary was always easygoing, always saving the best food for her. He knew what she liked and would even special order it for her on the weekends. They all got along like family in this small shop.

She was worried that misunderstandings would arise between Zachary and Xavier, so she wanted Luisa to leave, even if it meant swallowing her own grievances. But in the end, it still turned out like this.

Damian and the others watched Zachary’s retreating figure as their faces filled with worry.

“Don’t sweat it!” Estelle scanned the crowd, “Zachary will be back in no time!”

Xavier glanced at Estelle, “Did you do this on purpose?”

“If I didn’t do this, this situation would have just kept dragging on, and Zachary would’ve ended up more distant from everyone.” Estelle explained, “Letting him leave would make him see whether Luisa really likes him or not.”

Because she hit Luisa, Zachary would vent his anger on her instead of resenting Xavier.

Damian sighed, “Why’s Zachary so clueless?”

Norah turned to Estelle, “What brings you here?”

Estelle shrugged, “Just thought I’d drop by since I was free this afternoon.”

It was Sunday, and she guessed Luisa might come to the shop again. She was worried that Norah might clash with Luisa, so she came to check things

out.

Norah knew Estelle was concerned about her, which made her eyes redden again, “Since Zachary’s gone with Luisa, let’s leave too!”

She turned to Xavier, not meeting his eyes, 1 won’t be coming to the shop for a while.”

Xavier said in a low voice, “I was a bit harsh just now. Don’t take it to heart”

Norah didn’t say anything else and just bid goodbye to Damian and the others. Watching Norah leave made Damian feel a pang of regret, “Norah, we all trust you. Don’t quit on us!”
