Orion’s mind churned as he quickly thought of a reason, he turned to look at Fiora and said with a gentle smile, "How can my cooking compare with Fiora? Of course Fiora cooks better."
He said without changing his expression. He didn’t care about his face, what is that? Can you eat it? Only the shameless people are invincible in this world.
Rina’s lips twitched as she muttered to herself, "Shameless."
Orion turned a deaf ear to her while Fiora giggled hearing his words.
Even Seraph’s lips curled slightly into a smile seeing this different side of Orion for the first time.
Eldric and Selene left shortly after to let the young ones talk among themselves with a smile. And after a while everyone finished talking, the lively atmosphere within the hall gradually quieted down.
Arya and Nyss were the first ones to leave, bidding farewell to Orion and the others before departing towards their own homes.
Fiora and Rina excused themselves shortly after, heading back to their respective duties within the mansion. Seraph asked Orion to meet with her later before heading back to her room.
Now left alone with little Lyra, Orion gently took her small hand and began walking down the familiar corridor toward his room.
He glanced down at her with a helpless yet affectionate smile and asked softly, "Are you sure you don’t want your own room, Little Lyra? It would be a space all for yourself."
Lyra vigorously shook her head, green hair fluttering around her small face as she stubbornly insisted, "No! I want to stay with papa!"
Orion sighed helplessly, knowing he couldn’t change the little girl’s mind. As they reached his room, he gently pushed open the wooden door.
Lyra eagerly dashed inside, her small feet padding softly on the floor as she curiously explored every corner of Orion’s room.
Compared to the lavishly decorated rooms typical of nobility, Orion’s room was unusually simple and minimalistic.
A large, comfortable bed was placed against the far wall, its sheets neatly arranged. In front of a window was placed a neat study table for his research and learning with few scattered parchments and ink bottles.
Near the corner was a simple dressing table and wardrobe, both modest yet practical. And a meditation mat was placed at the very center of the room, and doors nearby led toward the washroom and bath area.
Lyra’s little brows furrowed with dissatisfaction as she finished surveying the room, turning toward Orion with a slightly pouting expression, "Papa, why is your room so plain? It’s not pretty at all."
Orion chuckled softly, kneeling down to gently pat her head, "That’s because I don’t pay much attention to these kinds of things. But you can decorate it however you wish, alright? Just ask Fiora or Rina to help you find whatever you need."
Lyra’s bright eyes instantly lit up, her previous dissatisfaction quickly vanishing as new, exciting ideas filled her mind.
She nodded eagerly, clearly thrilled at the thought of turning Orion’s plain room upside down.
Watching her excitement, Orion smiled gently before recalling something important he needed to do. Standing back up, he softly told Lyra, "Little Lyra, you can stay here and plan your decorations, or play around the mansion with the others. I need to visit a friend who isn’t feeling well. I won’t be long."
Lyra obediently nodded her small head, her big emerald eyes brimming with understanding, "Okay, papa! Lyra will be good and wait for you here!"
With a gentle smile, Orion turned and quietly exited the room, softly closing the door behind him.
He then swiftly headed down another hallway, passing through several corridors until he reached the guest chambers where Magi had been resting ever since Edgar brought him back.
He talked with Lumi along the way about some stuff and soon reached the door of the room where Magi was resting. He gently knocked before pushing it open quietly.
Looking inside, Orion saw Magi resting quietly on the bed, his chest rising and falling with deep breaths.
The soft rays of sunlight filtered through the partially drawn curtains, gently illuminating Magi’s peaceful yet slightly pale face.
The room felt tranquil and calming, a stark contrast to the storm of emotions Orion felt brewing within himself as he approached Magi’s bedside.
Standing silently beside his unconscious friend, Orion carefully studied Magi’s body. Something felt off, very subtle, yet unmistakably strange.
