First Love Only? I Left Him First, Now the CEO Can't Let Go novel Chapter 324

Chapter 324: Chapter 324: Play the Piano for Me Again

"Brother Lockwood?"

Patrick Rhodes, with the sharpest eyes, noticed Caleb Lockwood the moment he walked in.

"Brother Lockwood, come quickly, do you know about Serena Jennings..."

Before he could finish, Patrick’s foot was stomped on hard by Serena.

Patrick looked at Serena in confusion.

Serena herself didn’t know what Patrick intended to say to Caleb Lockwood.

She stepped on Patrick’s foot purely out of instinct.

"What about Serena Jennings?"

Caleb Lockwood walked over in strides.

"This... that..."

Patrick stammered, not knowing what to say for a moment.

If Serena hadn’t stomped on his foot, he might have been fine, but now he didn’t dare say anything.

"Ex-husband dude, why are you haunting around? My master goes where you go?"

Dylan Shepherd left the white grand piano and walked up to Serena.

Caleb Lockwood found Dylan Shepherd to be a fascinating person.

Once he sat at the piano, he turned into an elegant gentleman.

Completely different from when away from the piano.

He thought, maybe this was a genius born for the piano?

"How am I haunting around? I’m not even here for Serena..."

While speaking, Caleb looked towards Patrick.

"I’m here for him."

Patrick pouted.

Brother Lockwood, you lie so smoothly without even hesitating.

His presence at Riverview Imperial at this time was completely unplanned; his schedule was originally to play golf with a client.

Serena glanced at Caleb Lockwood and said, "That’s just right, I’m inviting Dylan Shepherd for a meal, so..."

"Let Patrick be the host to treat us!"

Patrick: ???

Serena: ???

All eyes turned to Caleb Lockwood.

Serena originally wanted to say, "That’s just right, I’m inviting Dylan Shepherd for a meal, so I won’t chat with you all."

Patrick hadn’t planned on hosting a meal.

He could treat Serena.

But he barely knew Dylan Shepherd.

Yet, with Caleb saying it like that, if he didn’t offer, he’d seem too stingy.

So, Patrick opened a private room to treat Serena, Dylan Shepherd, and Caleb Lockwood to dinner.

At the dinner table, only Dylan Shepherd was feasting away.

After a long flight with too many tasteless airplane meals, Dylan Shepherd wasn’t going to be polite to Patrick now.

Patrick felt the atmosphere closing in, caught between Caleb Lockwood and Serena.

"Brother Lockwood, you should eat something too!"

After Patrick spoke, Caleb didn’t move his chopsticks.

"Serena, don’t you want to try this Buddha Jumps Over the Wall?"

"Thanks, I’m not hungry."

Patrick was refused again by Serena.

He looked at Serena, then at Caleb Lockwood, not understanding why the atmosphere between them was so awkward.

"I have something... I want to say to you."

Caleb Lockwood looked at Serena, but Dylan Shepherd interrupted as soon as he started.

"I’m organizing a piano competition, called the Shepherd Cup. Master, would you come participate?"

Dylan Shepherd, mostly done with his meal, started discussing serious matters with Serena.

Caleb Lockwood frowned nearby.

The aroma of the delicious food filled the table, yet the tension was palpable.

Patrick coughed repeatedly.

"I won’t join."

Serena waved her hand.

"Why not?"

Dylan Shepherd thought it was such a pity.

"Master, this is my first competition, named after me. Can you give me some face..."

Dylan Shepherd tugged at Serena’s sleeve, playfully begging.

"If you don’t participate, I won’t be able to choose a champion! How will I end it then..."

Serena was both amused and helpless.

What Dylan said implied the champion was already pre-decided to be her, which gave her more reason not to participate.

As long as Serena participated in the piano competition, he would undoubtedly get to hear her play.

"Alright, I support you."

Now, both Caleb Lockwood, Dylan Shepherd, and Patrick were urging her to participate.

Serena frowned.

She didn’t understand Caleb’s obsession with her playing the piano.

She no longer resisted touching the black and white keys, even enjoying the sensation while playing.

However...

She still hated piano competitions.

Competitions brought back unpleasant memories from the past.

"Master..."

Dylan Shepherd blinked pleadingly.

"Please, I was counting on you for this competition."

Serena thought Dylan exaggerated too much.

"Give me some time to think about it!"

"Okay, okay, think it over... You must agree!"

Watching Dylan’s eager look, Serena softly smiled.

After dinner, Patrick escorted Serena, Dylan, and Caleb to the hotel entrance.

"I’ll take Serena home."

Caleb offered proactively.

"Master came with my car, so naturally, she should leave with my car too."

Dylan argued.

Caleb chuckled coldly, turning to face Dylan.

The powerful pressure was palpable; Dylan stood with hands on hips, deliberately puffing his chest to show he wasn’t afraid.

"Do you believe... I can have your master willingly ride with me?"

As both Dylan and Serena felt surprised, Caleb leaned into Serena’s ear, whispering with a smile.

Even with great effort, Dylan couldn’t hear anything.

"Master..."

"Sorry, I have something to deal with. I’ll have my assistant arrange a place for you, and I’ll come find you once I’m done."

Serena spoke sincerely, believing Dylan would understand.

And so, just as Caleb said, Serena willingly got into Caleb’s car.
