As soon as Fiona got her hands on the money, she wasted no time booking a flight to the States. She knew she had to get out of there fast.
To avoid being recognized, she dressed down and feigned a limp as she pushed her suitcase out of her place. The folks keeping an eye at the door didn't even bat an eye, letting her slip away unnoticed. She quickly flagged down a cab, and within half an hour, she was at the airport.
Time was of the essence. She grabbed her ticket and made a beeline for the boarding gate, her escape plan finally coming together.
But just as she thought she was in the clear, her phone buzzed relentlessly. A stream of texts informed her that her bank accounts were frozen. All her funds were out of reach, leaving her with just a little over a thousand bucks she had pulled out as a backup.
Stunned, she shot up from her seat, accidentally knocking off her hat and sunglasses. Her cover blown, people at the gate started murmuring.
"Isn't that Fiona, the one who ripped off H's work and tried to smear them? She's got some nerve!"
"I know, right? I was just watching the live stream. What's she doing here when she should be laying low?"
"No way, is she trying to make a run for it? What a piece of work."
"I'd rather miss my flight than let her get away. Anyone wanna help me blow this up online?"
Hearing these whispers, Fiona panicked. In her rush, she'd lost sight of how sticky her situation was. She grabbed her suitcase and tried to dash off, but people were already on her tail.
Fiona was fuming. These people were relentless.
Before long, airport security caught up with her, and soon after, the cops showed up.
The chat group for Westbrook High's Class of Year 19 went wild. No one could believe Fiona was H. In no time, there were 99+ new messages, and even the school staff were in shock. Fiona's stellar grades had already stunned them, but finding out she was the famous H was a whole new level.
Sandy, who had pushed for Fiona to join her class, was now uncharacteristically quiet. With Fiona's scandal out in the open, her pride took a hit.
She had mocked Keaton in the past, never realizing Fiona was the underdog, a quiet achiever who made waves.
Fiona decided to shut off her phone and catch some sleep. Then, she noticed a presence in the living room.
Her eyes narrowed as she stealthily slipped out of bed and tiptoed to the door, cautiously peering out. Only a select few knew about this villa, so how did someone get a key to her place?
The lights were on in the living room, and sitting on the couch was none other than Jackson.
