Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1782

Jasmine had always faced Shelly's icy demeanor, so why on earth did she save her? Weren't they supposed to be at odds?

Shelly was the heir apparent of the Bryant family, destined to take the reins unless something unexpected happened. Meanwhile, Jasmine had carved out a successful path for herself, even partnering with the Kidd family. If the Bryant family ever had a power shuffle, it seemed like only Shelly could stand against Jasmine. Saving her just didn't add up.

“How long are you two gonna stand there? Are you getting in or what?” Nash shouted over to them.

Shelly pulled herself together, though Jane still looked ghostly pale, her feet seemingly stuck to the ground.

“Come on, let’s move,” Shelly urged, helping Jane into the car.

The evening’s party had been quite the eye-opener for both of them.

After Jane managed to slip away from Josie, she had already picked her side, set to follow Fiona’s path. The Kidd family would likely face some rough times ahead in the States, and compared to tonight, Jane would prefer never to work for Josie again.

Everyone was lost in their own thoughts as the car zipped through the streets, reaching the hospital in no time. Jasmine was whisked into the emergency room, but it didn’t take long before she was wheeled out again, her injuries tended to, and she was already peacefully asleep.

“Tyler, why don’t you stay here tonight to keep an eye on things?” Fiona suggested.

The others didn’t have much to add and headed off to a nearby hotel to crash for the night.

Fiona leaned back in bed, her fingers flying over her phone screen as she messaged Tyler, reminding him to watch over Jasmine and ensure no one entered without proper questioning.

Fiona knew exactly what was going on but chose to ignore it, wanting Jackson to feel at ease.

Jackson gently took the cup from her hand, smiling as he carefully laid her down on the bed. After a moment, he settled in beside her.

Fiona’s profile looked so lovely!

...

Jasmine woke up around two in the morning, her throat dry as a desert. As she reached out for the cup of tea, she noticed a shadow flit across the moonlit room. Startled, she launched the cup at the figure, the sound of it shattering echoed as the shadow vanished, just as the lights clicked on.
