Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1817

When they finally stepped into the classroom, they couldn't believe their eyes. There was Fiona, lounging back and watching a show on her tablet without a care in the world. The three of them just stood there, dumbfounded, thinking she must be totally out of the loop.

Jane, ever the quick one, rushed over to Fiona and gave her arm a gentle poke. "Hey, do you even know what's going on?"

Fiona removed her headphones, looking genuinely puzzled, with a hint of suspicion creeping onto her face.

She had been so wrapped up in her show that the chatter around her was nothing but background noise. Even if she had caught wind of it, she wouldn't have lifted a finger. People can gossip all they want, and she had no interest in stopping them.

Feeling a bit flustered, Jane decided to cut to the chase. She swiped Fiona's headphones away and laid out the whole situation. She knew Amy had stirred up this drama just to put Fiona in a tough spot.

And it wasn't just Jane who knew. Fiona and her friends were well aware that Amy had managed to stay squeaky clean, while they were left looking like the bad guys, with everyone else rallying around Amy. Gossip spread like wildfire, painting Fiona and her gang as the villains of the piece.

A classmate scoffed, "How do you even have the guts to show up here? If I were you, I'd be hiding under the covers at home!"

Jane shot up from her seat, glaring daggers at the speaker. "What did you just say?"

"Why are you giving me the evil eye? Did I say anything wrong? If you hadn't bailed last minute, would we be stuck writing this massive report? Ten thousand words, do you even get how much that is? But then again, why would a princess like you care? The Stonnell family has all the clout in the States, so they'll always find a way to smooth things over for you."

Jane was on the brink of exploding. If Center College was such a breeze to get into, why did she bust her butt studying for it? Why is Center College such a big deal for the elite families in the States?

Jasmine was fearless, a rebel who wouldn't back down from anyone. Jane might not have Jasmine's strength or quick thinking, but they both shared that bold, straightforward nature, always ready to stand up, right or wrong.

Fiona swiveled in her chair to face the left, still lounging with one leg crossed. She reached out, grabbing Jane's hand and giving her a reassuring look.

Feeling the warmth in her palm, Jane glanced down, and after locking eyes with Fiona, she chose to believe in her.

"Go ahead, laugh all you want..." Fiona grinned at the two classmates who were nearly in tears from laughing, unfazed by their antics.
