Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1848

Fiona woke up to sunlight streaming through her window and grabbed her phone, only to find her name and Jackson’s trending everywhere—again.

“Evening Barbecue Brawl: Suspected Woods and Stonnell Heirs in All-Out Fight.”

“Action-Packed Brawl Rivals Hollywood!”

“Police Escort Duo After Violent Clash.”

She clicked into one of the headlines, not expecting much, but the story had blown up overnight. Someone had even livestreamed their trip to the police station, which set the internet on fire.

The streamer made a killing in just one night. Fiona scrolled through the comments, half amused, half annoyed.

“This streamer’s either got nerves of steel or no sense of self-preservation. If those two are really the Woods and Stonnell heirs, streamer’s probably got three days left to live.”

“Three days? Be realistic. They’ve already gone silent. Bet they didn’t even make it to sunrise.”

“Not even gonna lie, those two can fight. Whoever trained them, let me know—I’ll pay for lessons!”

Rolling her eyes, Fiona tossed her phone onto the bed and stepped out onto the balcony, resting her chin in her hands as she looked out over the city. It was late enough that Jackson should’ve already gone to the office. But when she glanced sideways, she caught someone watching her from the next balcony over.

A smile broke across her face as she turned and called out, “Morning, big brother!”

“Morning,” Jackson replied, sitting back with a mug of coffee, his smile as warm as ever. His gentle voice drifted across the gap. “Not sleeping in today? It’s Saturday.”

But before he could head back inside, Fiona was already climbing over the balcony railing, neatly bridging the gap between their balconies. Jackson spun around in panic, worried she’d slip and fall.

The space between the balconies was definitely not small—he hadn’t expected her to actually try it. For a split second, he seriously considered buying the whole building, just to connect every balcony for her.

Before he could say a word, Fiona landed in his arms, grinning up at him, her voice soft and sweet. “Big brother.”

“Don’t mess around,” Jackson scolded, worry clear in his tone. Not willing to risk another stunt, he scooped her up and carried her straight to the dining table, where he’d already laid out breakfast—croissants, eggs, fluffy pancakes.

“Today, we’re visiting the prison. I want to see how things turned out,” Jackson said.

Fiona smiled. That was exactly what she’d been planning, too.
