The guy thought Fiona hadn’t recognized him, and just like that, he lit up with relief. He looked a lot more at ease, convinced that as long as no one figured out he was the guy from last night’s livestream, everything would be fine.

“Hi, Ms. Fiona!” he greeted quickly. “I just thought this car looked amazing and wanted to take a few photos, that’s all. No harm meant! If you don’t want me taking pictures, I’ll leave right now, really.”

He nodded before he could stop himself, then caught himself and shook his head, looking so guilty it was almost entertaining.

Fiona and Jackson headed back into the police station, this time carrying a sleek black bag.

The guy, meanwhile, was still pretty pleased with himself, convinced Fiona hadn’t noticed what he was up to. Even if she had, as long as she didn’t call him out, he wasn’t worried.

But his livestream chat was blowing up with panic—everyone was telling him to get out of there, to stop chasing drama and just save himself. He ignored them. He wanted a big scoop, something that could tear open the secrets of those wealthy, untouchable families. Why not? It’s not like he had anything to lose.

After snapping dozens of pictures of the luxury car, he finally settled into a spot where he could watch and wait for something even juicier.

Inside, a police officer led Fiona and Jackson to a holding room. As expected, the rebellious teen’s mom was already there.

Fiona smiled to herself. Looked like someone was about to step in—and she already knew a bit about the girl’s family.
