Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1858

Fiona’s glare was so intense that the advisor actually swallowed, fear written all over her face.

She couldn’t wrap her head around it—how did a nineteen-year-old girl manage to look that terrifying? Even Amy, with all her attitude, had never been this scary. Was this what all rich heirs were like? The kind of people you couldn’t help but respect—and fear?

She’d been so careful, so sure she’d covered her tracks, but somehow Fiona had traced everything right back to her. Heart pounding, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number saved without a name.

The call connected right away.

“Fiona already knows we started the rumors online.”

“She found out that fast?”

The voice on the other end was a man’s—calm, lazy, with a creepy little laugh.

“Don’t just laugh! Tell me what I’m supposed to do,” she hissed, her voice shaking. “If Fiona really has proof, I’m done for. I’ll lose my job—or worse, I could go to jail!”

“That sounds like your problem. What’s it got to do with me?” he replied, still with that eerie, amused tone.

The advisor just stood there, stunned. Was she just someone’s pawn?

No way. No way. She couldn’t let that happen—she’d lose everything she’d worked for.

She tried to say something else, but the call ended.

Suddenly frantic, she started pacing the hallway, shouting in frustration. The truth hit her like a punch to the gut—she was nothing more than a chess piece, and now she could be tossed aside at any moment.
