Chapter 290
Sunday was Mother’s Day.
Isabella arrived at the Miller family’s home on Saturday. She had been brought there by Franklin’s driver.
For her Mother’s Day gift, Isabella had made a handmade card, on which she wrote the words: “Mom, Happy Mother’s Day.”
“Do you think it’s pretty? The teacher said I could ask Dad to help, but he’s been so busy lately. From the layout to drawing the design and sticking the hearts, I did it all by myself.”
It had been a while since Maggie had seen Isabella doing homework. Her handwriting had gotten even more
beautiful.
Hearing her words, Maggie looked at the card in her hand and suddenly remembered how, last year, when she had flown to A Country to celebrate her and Franklin’s birthday, Isabella had been busy making a bracelet for Julia.
Moreover, from what Isabella had said, it seemed that the bracelet had been made with both her and Franklin’s
efforts.
As these thoughts crossed her mind, Maggie’s expression remained unchanged. She slowly closed the card and said, “It’s very beautiful, thank you.”
The day after Mother’s Day, Maggie received a phone call from Nolan. That evening, she once again headed to the
base.
When Jimmy entered the data center and saw Maggie busy at work, he paused in his steps.
Maggie didn’t notice him immediately..
After a while, when she picked up a cup, took a sip of water, and set it back down, she finally noticed Jimmy, who was facing her from a distance.
She gave him a slight nod and then continued her work.
Jimmy had come to the data center for a reason. After talking to someone for a while, he noticed that Maggie was still in her original position. He walked over to her.
“It’s so late. Aren’t you going to grab something to eat first?”
Maggie looked up, saw him, and said, “I’ll go in a bit.”
Jimmy nodded and didn’t disturb her any further.

Chapter 290
After a while, when Maggie finished her work and was about to leave the data center to grab a meal, she noticed that Jimmy was standing outside, seemingly waiting for someone.
Hearing footsteps, Jimmy turned around, saw her, and smile, “Finished with work? Planning to go eat?”
Maggie: “Yes, you-”
“Want to go together?”
Maggie was momentarily stunned, then realized that he had been waiting for her.
Jimmy had been worried about disturbing her work, so he waited outside.
Looking at her, he said, “You must have already seen the video from the mission last week. In a way, you saved me.”
Every pilot has their own flying habits. These habits are the accumulation of experience and sharp intuition. However, in today’s world of unprecedented AI development, these habits can easily be turned into data that the enemy can collect.
Maggie, based on his combat experience and the enemy’s collected data, knew that last week, when Jimmy tried to act based on his personal habits, the system had provided the opposite advice, accurately predicting the enemy’s position and movement, and offering him the best route to strike.
It was only thanks to the system’s assistance that he was able to escape danger.
Upon hearing this, Maggie immediately understood what he meant.
She replied, “That’s what we’re supposed to do. Besides, you were very calm at the time and made the best decision. You also saved yourself.“.
Maybe it was what she should have done, but ever since that day, whenever Jimmy came to the data center, she often heard many people praise her ability to process and analyze data.
Moreover, she had an exceptionally keen insight into the situation.
As Jimmy was about to speak, Nolan walked over and said to her, “Come with me.”
