From Best Friend To Fiancé (Savannah and Roman) novel Chapter 299

**Chapter 299: I’m The Boss**

**Savannah**

“Are you absolutely certain this looks good? Because I’m really not feeling it,” Roman grumbled for what felt like the millionth time, his fingers twisting the tie into a wrinkled, chaotic mess that seemed to mock his efforts. “Honestly, I think I look ridiculous.”

A laugh escaped my lips as I tossed the covers aside, sitting up in bed with a slight wince. The morning had been a whirlwind of testing Roman’s stamina, a delightful challenge that had left me both exhilarated and slightly sore. “You don’t look ridiculous at all. In fact, you look quite dashing,” I replied, my voice teasingly light.

As he turned to face me, his hands froze mid-motion. His gaze traveled slowly down my body, tracing the curves of my bare skin as the sheets slipped away.

With a wolf-whistle, he exclaimed, “Damn, sexy.”

I attempted to maintain an air of indifference, but a laugh bubbled up uncontrollably. “My eyes are up here, mister,” I said, trying to sound stern but failing miserably.

He smirked, a playful glint in his eyes. “These eyes seem to have a mind of their own.”

“Those eyes better not wander too far, or I’ll poke them out,” I teased, sliding out of bed and padding across the room towards him, my bare feet brushing against the cool floor.

Roman let out an exaggerated sigh, still yanking at his tie as if it were a personal enemy. “I swear, this thing was designed by someone with a serious grudge against men.”

“It’s just a tie, drama king,” I retorted, stepping closer to him. I took it upon myself to adjust it, pretending to inspect it like a high-fashion expert. “See? Teal and navy go together beautifully. I told you it would work.”

But as I scrutinized the combination up close, my expression faltered. It didn’t exactly scream “finance guy.” It screamed “trying too hard.”

“Yeah,” I finally conceded, a teasing smile playing on my lips. “Okay, maybe you’re onto something. You do look a little… silly.”

His mouth dropped open in mock disbelief. “Excuse me?”

I bit my lip, struggling to suppress my laughter, but it was a losing battle. “Sorry, I couldn’t help it.”

“Ha! I told you so,” he said triumphantly, yanking the tie off and tossing it onto the bed before disappearing into the closet.

“I thought it would look good!” I called after him, half-defensive, half-amused.

His voice echoed from within the closet. “In your imagination, maybe!”

“Exactly!” I laughed, my amusement ringing through the room.

Moments later, he emerged again, this time holding a bright red tie that practically radiated against his crisp white shirt.

“This one’s better,” he declared, casually looping it around his neck.

“That’s definitely more you,” I agreed, admiring how effortlessly the bold color suited him.

He handed it to me, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “Help me, baby.”

I raised an eyebrow, feigning suspicion. “You sure you’re not just using me as an excuse to stare?”

“Maybe,” he admitted shamelessly, his grin widening.

I took the tie, positioning myself right in front of him, completely naked while he stood fully dressed. His breath hitched, and he didn’t even pretend to hide the way his gaze roamed over me. Normally, I would’ve felt the urge to cover myself, but with Roman, things felt different. I had long stopped feeling insecure under his gaze; he didn’t just look—he adored.
