From Betrayal to Brilliance Her Rise to a New Life novel Chapter 330

**Her Rise**

Athena couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Harriet’s endless speculation. It was almost comical how her friend could weave stories out of thin air. “Harriet, can we please drop it?” she interjected, her tone firm yet tinged with exasperation. It was a well-known fact that no one else was privy to her relationship with Fabio, but she certainly was. The idea of Preston stepping in to assist her felt utterly ludicrous.

The mere thought sent shivers down her spine, a chilling wave of disbelief washing over her.

Deep down, Athena recognized the unsettling truth in Harriet’s words about the current situation. She couldn’t quite fathom why Preston had chosen this moment to intervene, but one thing was clear: his unexpected support had helped her navigate through this tumultuous challenge unscathed.

“Enough about that,” she declared, her voice gaining strength. “I’ve triumphed this time. Maya should finally settle down, and I can return to my passion—surgery—and continue to build my career!”

As she spoke, a spark ignited in her eyes, illuminating her face with a newfound determination.

Harriet’s grin widened, her happiness for Athena radiating through the room. “Lewis wasted so many precious years of your life, but now, you’re finally reclaiming what you rightfully deserve.”

“Exactly,” Athena replied, her voice steady. “And thankfully, Lewis has finally faced his consequences. I heard he’s been arrested for assault—who knows how long he’ll be behind bars.”

“Those two are absolutely revolting,” Harriet continued, her tone dripping with disdain. “They were so busy pretending to be in love while scheming behind your back, and now they’re tearing each other apart.”

As she listened to Harriet rant about Lewis, Athena felt an odd numbness settle over her, as if she were reflecting on a distant past that no longer held any significance. The connection she once felt for Lewis seemed to have vanished entirely.

Perhaps the only lingering tie was their child.

But where was the child now? Athena’s mind raced—was it a boy? Or a little girl?

Noticing the shift in Athena’s mood, Harriet quickly attempted to lighten the atmosphere. “Don’t fret. Even Preston is on your side now, so Maya can’t touch you. You’re safe.”

Just then, Zaden and Teri entered the room, their arms laden with dishes.

Everyone rose, heading toward the living room, where Zaden shot a slight frown in Harriet’s direction, while Teri bubbled with excitement, her energy infectious.

After washing their hands, they gathered around the table, and Athena’s eyes widened at the vibrant spread laid before her. She had to admit, it looked surprisingly appetizing. Maybe she had underestimated Zaden’s culinary skills after all.

With a playful smirk, Harriet picked up a piece of beef brisket and took a bite, only to grimace as her teeth protested. “Ugh… Zaden, how is this even considered food? Are we eating plastic?” she exclaimed, her face contorting in exaggerated agony.

Zaden’s brow furrowed, clearly taken aback by Harriet’s harsh critique of his inaugural cooking attempt.

Athena observed Zaden’s anxious expression and decided to take a piece herself, wanting to ease his discomfort.
