From Betrayal to Brilliance Her Rise to a New Life novel Chapter 338

**Her Rise 338**
**Teach Athena a Good Lesson**

As Jaylee’s words echoed in the air, Ariana’s expression hardened like stone. The indignation bubbled within her, a dignified lady from a prestigious lineage, now feeling the sting of being reprimanded by a mere young girl. How dare she? The audacity made her feel reckless, unreasonable, and utterly devoid of the decorum expected of someone in her position!

Athena, sensing the tension, turned to Jaylee with a soothing tone, “Alright, don’t let her get under your skin. It’s not worth the trouble.” Her voice was calm, yet there was a steeliness beneath it. She then shifted her gaze to Ariana, her demeanor transforming into one of icy resolve. “Mrs. Ariana, my assistant speaks the truth. If you lack faith in my skills and refuse my treatment, I suggest you seek another physician. It seems I am not the right fit for your needs.”

Without waiting for a retort, Athena grasped Jaylee’s arm and strode out of the room, her posture radiating confidence.

Ariana remained frozen, her anger simmering just beneath the surface, her face a mask of fury. Athena was no pushover! It was no wonder Maya had struggled to outmaneuver her!

At that moment, an attendant approached, holding out a phone. “Mrs. Ariana, it’s Ms. Maya on the line.”

The mention of Maya softened the hard lines of Ariana’s face, if only slightly. She accepted the call, her voice shifting to a more maternal tone. “Hello, Maya. What is it, my dear?”

“Grandma, why did you go to Storm Hospital?” Maya’s voice was laced with surprise. “Don’t we have our own hospital? Wouldn’t it be wiser for you to stay there?”

Ariana scoffed, a cold, dismissive sound escaping her lips. “You’re the one who always dashes off to Storm Hospital. Why should I be any different?”

Maya fell silent, a flicker of frustration crossing her mind. Deep down, she knew the real reason behind her grandmother’s visit. She had gone to Storm Hospital previously, not just for the sake of family ties, but in hopes of finding a way to reconnect with Zaden. Their last encounter had been a disaster, leaving her heartbroken and longing for reconciliation.

The hospital had become her only avenue, a desperate attempt to bridge the chasm that had formed between them.

“Alright, I won’t tease you any further,” Maya said, her voice softening. “You mentioned Athena is quite capable, and you’ve faced a few defeats at her hands, haven’t you? That last incident was such a scandal—if our family hadn’t intervened to hush it up, your reputation would have been in tatters!”

The reminder stung, and Maya’s expression darkened. She hadn’t anticipated such a crushing defeat. Athena had triumphed decisively, and what gnawed at her soul was the betrayal from her own brother. That was a wound she could never fully heal.

Ariana continued, her tone dripping with disdain, “So, I made a special trip to Storm Hospital to confront her and settle the score on your behalf.”

She conveniently omitted the fact that Athena had already outsmarted her earlier.

“Alright then, Grandma, just be careful,” Maya said, her voice laced with concern.

A warmth spread through Maya’s heart at her grandmother’s words. Despite Preston’s betrayal, she still had Ariana in her corner. With her grandmother stepping in, taking down Athena seemed like a mere formality.
