After a moment of contemplation, she dialed Harriet’s number, her heart racing slightly. “Hey, are you free tonight?” she asked, trying to keep her tone casual.
“Absolutely! Why? Are you treating me to dinner?” Harriet’s voice brightened instantly, a hint of excitement lacing her words. “I just discovered this fantastic new place that serves the most incredible homestyle meals. We should definitely check it out!”
Athena, sensing the enthusiasm, quickly interrupted her. “Actually, I’m going somewhere else tonight. It’s a bit awkward. Would you mind coming with me?”
A frown crossed Harriet’s face, her curiosity piqued. “What kind of place has you feeling so tense?”
Yet, true to her loyal nature, she added, “Alright, I’ll go with you.”
With Harriet agreeing to accompany her, a wave of relief washed over Athena.

She thought to herself that perhaps the weight on her shoulders was a little lighter now.
Just as she was about to hang up, a sudden thought struck her, and she blurted out, “Wait—where exactly are we going?”
“Uh…” Athena hesitated, feeling a tad awkward. “To Zaden’s house.”
“What? Didn’t you move back there already? It’s been a while, hasn’t it? His house isn’t a haunted mansion or anything. Why are you acting so nervous?” Harriet’s voice was filled with confusion.
Athena sighed deeply, rubbing her forehead in frustration. “It’s at Mrs. Storm’s house.”
An eerie silence fell over the line, and Athena could almost hear the gears turning in Harriet’s mind.
After what felt like an eternity, Harriet finally exclaimed, “Wait, what did you just say? You? Having dinner at Mrs. Storm’s? Are you serious?”
“You heard me correctly,” Athena replied, still grappling with the absurdity of the situation herself.
She couldn’t quite fathom how it had come to this. One moment she was treating Beverly at the clinic, and the next, she found herself unexpectedly invited to dinner.
“Wait, you’re not going there voluntarily, are you?”
“Of course not!” Athena rolled her eyes, exasperated. “I’m not that reckless. She came in for a checkup today and, out of nowhere, invited me to dinner. I didn’t even have a chance to decline before she left!”

Harriet was at a loss for words.
This was beyond insane.
