From Betrayal to Brilliance Her Rise to a New Life novel Chapter 366

**TITLE: Her Rise 366**
**Chapter 366 A Strand of Evidence**

“Yeah, I’m picking up Athena to take her home,” Zaden murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, almost as if he were sharing a secret.

“What about me?” Harriet interjected, her tone laced with confusion and irritation.

Zaden, unfazed and quick on his feet, replied, “You drove here, didn’t you? You can drive yourself back.”

Harriet felt a wave of disbelief wash over her. How could he be so ungrateful? Did he not even remember the role she played in introducing him to his wife? It was as if he was systematically dismantling their connection, burning bridges without a second thought. The thought of his heartlessness left a bitter taste in her mouth.

Zaden, with an uncanny ability to read the room, seemed to sense Harriet’s turmoil. He softened his approach, saying, “How about I drive you home, and you can leave your car here? You can take a cab back tomorrow to pick it up.”

As the words left his lips, Harriet felt her frustration evaporate, replaced by a reluctant acceptance. But deep down, she thought, I’d much rather just drive myself home!

Shaking off her dissatisfaction, she turned to Athena and Zaden, forcing a smile. “Well, I’m heading out then. Bye!”

Once Harriet settled into her car, Athena opened the door to Zaden’s vehicle and slid inside, buckling her seatbelt with a sense of familiarity. A thought crossed her mind, echoing Beverly’s earlier words. “Your other… she seems to miss you a lot. Don’t you want to go in and see her?”

Zaden’s brow knitted together, a look of annoyance flashing across his face. “There’s no need,” he replied curtly, pressing down on the gas pedal as they sped away from the villa.

Meanwhile, inside the villa, Daisy approached Beverly with a hint of concern. “Mrs. Storm, Mr. Zaden just came to pick up Athena, but he didn’t come in to see you.”

Beverly’s expression darkened, frustration etched into her features. She had not anticipated such a callous move from Zaden. Even when he stood at her doorstep, he chose to remain distant!

Daisy, noticing the tension in Beverly’s face, offered gentle words of comfort. “Mrs. Storm, things between you and Mr. Zaden are pretty tense right now. It won’t be easy to mend. But I saw him come to pick her up himself, as if he feared she would be mistreated here. That shows he really cares about Athena. If you work through her, you’ll definitely find a way to succeed.”

Beverly’s expression remained serious. Daisy likely hadn’t overheard their previous conversation. Athena had suggested she work through Teri instead.

Fine, she thought, perhaps winning over a child would be less complicated than navigating the unpredictable waters of adult emotions. With this new strategy in mind, Beverly’s demeanor softened slightly.

“Keep an eye on them,” she instructed Daisy, her voice firm yet composed. “See if there’s any unusual activity and report back to me.”

Daisy understood the unspoken concern. Beverly wanted her to monitor Peyton and that illegitimate son, fearing they might plot something against Zaden.
