**TITLE: Her Rise 378**
**Chapter 378**
Hannah Blyth
“Enough! I’m finished talking to you. I’m heading to the hospital to see Grandma!” Maya declared, her voice tinged with frustration.
With that, she pivoted on her heel and stormed out of the room, her footsteps echoing with resolve.
Patricia watched her daughter’s retreating silhouette, a heavy sigh escaping her lips. The weight of worry settled in her chest; Zaden’s position within the Storm family felt increasingly unstable, and she wished for Maya to explore alternative paths.
What if Zaden fell from grace? What if Elijah, with his polished charm and ambition, eclipsed him entirely?
But how could she impose her will on Maya?
The thought left another helpless sigh lingering in the air, a testament to her growing concern.
Meanwhile, Fabio arrived at the hospital, his heart racing as he made his way to his mother Ariana’s private room. He found her preparing to rise from her bed, eager for a stroll in the hospital gardens when he entered.
“What are you doing here?” Ariana inquired, her brow furrowing as she caught sight of him.
“A son should always make time for his mother when she’s in the hospital, unless he wants the rumor mill to start churning,” Fabio replied with an easy smile, masking the guilt that gnawed at him.
Days had stretched into weeks since his last visit, and his comment earned a derisive snort from Ariana. “So, you’re aware that people talk? I thought you’d completely forgotten about your mother’s existence!”
Her tone ignited a flicker of frustration within Fabio.
“Mom, please don’t be upset. I’m here now, aren’t I?” he offered, attempting to soothe her with a gentle tone.
“Business has been relentless, and honestly, Patricia wasn’t exactly thrilled about me visiting you in the hospital. That’s the reason for my absence until now,” he explained, using his wife as a shield in his effort to calm the storm brewing in Ariana’s heart.
Ariana’s dissatisfaction only intensified. “Are you telling me that Patricia has been the one keeping you away from your own mother? She’s the reason for this distance?”
“No, it’s not like that at all. She had her reasons for suggesting I hold off on the visit…”
Fabio’s voice trailed off as he stood up and moved to close the hospital room door. Ariana’s eyes widened in surprise. What was he doing? Why the sudden need for privacy?
“Mom,” he began again, settling back into his chair, “has Athena been the one looking after you these past few days?”
“You seem to be in much better spirits. I can only assume it’s her exceptional care that’s aiding your swift recovery?”
At the mention of Athena’s name, Ariana’s expression shifted dramatically. She remembered how she had made things difficult for the young doctor on several occasions, initially due to her feelings about Maya. However, after Zaden had staunchly defended Athena, Ariana had reluctantly eased her hostility.
